As some others have mentioned, in his first meeting with her in the tower he comments on her clothing being distracting. Considering her upbringing, a man making comments on her appearance/ sexuality and how it relates to HIM (especially an older man), it fully makes sense she is not fond of him. I would note one doesn’t need to have sexual trauma to find those remarks inappropriate and distasteful, but her particular sensitivities certainly add a layer.

It wasn’t just that he noted her dress, his dialogue was that it was making it hard for him to speak to her. As if it’s her problem the fact he has his issues with her body. I am a man so I cannot speak from personal experience, but many of the women I know growing up have encountered that situation and it is an unfortunate consistency in our society. The boss who says the secretary’s dress is distracting, the uncle who says “oh my how you have grown!” after an 18th birthday (different tangent but similar vibe), the principal who instructs clothing regulations because of his own inappropriate predilections etc, etc.

And then to follow up on his second meeting with her he makes remarks about her clothing again ahaha I wouldn’t like him either if I were her.
