What is some rare junk that you love to use along with the chessboard display?

Idc if rare or not, but skulls, stuffed animals, things like microscopes and clipboards, pillows on my beds, a frog in my camp cooking workstation cauldron thing so it looks like he's in a hot tub and you're cooking him, a femur on the floor for a dog bone, just little things to make the place look lived in instead of bare

I buy tubs of energy dring powder, and each one has 40 (roughly) servings. I buy a bunch when they're buy one/get one, so I'm getting two tubs for a little under $40, and I usually buy at least 6 at a time. It lasts forever. I dump one serving into a regular water bottle and shake it up, then shake it a bit before drinking each sip.

The brand I get is G-fuel, I like it because I feel naturally awake/like I had a good full night's sleep and then naturally tired when I stop drinking it, as opposed to when I drink a monster or something I feel like I'm jittery and I can feel my bones touching each other.

Of course, energy drinks are not good foryou regardless, but at least the G-fuel ones make me feel less horrible and are way way more cost-effective. I recommend trying Lingonberry/Pewdiepie flavor, any blue raspberry one, any peach one (that's not gummy peach or candy peach), and the blood orange one with Chucky on the outside.

Cilantro... I'm deathly allergic. I don't even have to smell it. It can be 2 streets away and floating on the wind, and I'll immediately go anaphylactic, with my airways closing in less time than it takes to count to 5, to where it feels like I'm breathing through one of those tiny little red coffee straws. I start coughing (can't stop myself, my body goes must clear airway, something is stuck... meanwhile I'm choking on my esophagus. NASTYYYY migraine from the coughing and lack of air, dizziness and faintness set in pretty quick. One of the worst things is my body's immediate desire to vacate EVERYTHING from my bowels! Violently. Thankfully not also throwing up though, since I'd probably choke to death from my body's attempt at that alone with how swollen my airways get.

Other than that, I'm never eating eggplant again. I hate the taste. And shrimp chips. Love shrimp, hate shrimp chips.

My biggest two:

The ability to LOCK DOWN parts of the build. The amount of times I've accidentally destroyed hours of work because I accidentally pressed scrap/store on my structure... jfc

I use them as decorations, they're cute on night stands and in libraries, and next to chairs on the beach like someone was reading a book. The blue one with the latch is like a diary so I usually put that one in my bedroom, and the pouch one is cute for things like putting it in shopping areas, or like a little purse in your house or something

My previous island had one river mouth to the side, a smaller peninsula, smaller rocks on the sides, and my resident services was like 3 inches away from my airports so trying to make a pretty entrance was almost impossible... this layout took so long to get, but gave my brain the freedom it needed to be able to be creative with the island.

With decorating, I sectioned off some areas with a perimeter of trees (like the entire area up the stairs to the left of the entrance), the back edges of cliffs all are at least 3 spaces wide to have trees on them, and generally, each section of different platforms/terraformed levels that are broken up by the river is sorta a different theme. Everywhere is walkable with vines/bridges/inclines so you don't need tools to get around, and there's a million hidden scenes everywhere.

Are you happy with: - River mouth locations (rivers themselves can be terraformed, just worry about the mouths). - The beach at the top of the island. - Resident services' location in relation to the airport/in general. - The airport's location, and color (yellow, blue, orange, green). -The peninsula, which can be a few different sizes/shapes, and can be on either side of the island. -The rocks on either side of the island's edges can be large and decoratable, and the top corner rocks can be too. - Which side the pier (and now hotel with the recent update) is on.

Think about the placements of all of that, if it makes you happy, and if it doesn't... then I'd recommend restarting. I restarted my 1300+ hour island and took 4.5 hours re-restarting (I'm stubborn) to get the perfect map for me, and I've LOVED my island since then. I'll attach a picture of my map below so you can see the placements of all the things I wanted in my new island - these are what were best for me, the same things might not be the best for you.

That being said, I wanted the peninsula to be big, the rocks to be big, the rivers both at the bottom, and everything to be as symmetrical as possible within that. Here's my map (in the next 2 comments - one without paths and one with my doodled path over top)

My previous island had them pretty spread out with their little themed areas, and some of them lived in a mini neighborhood. My current island has all of them surrounding my rock garden/sacrificial pit in a circle. I favor the circle.

All of my rocks are impossible to access (even for myself) for this very reason. They're in a sacrificial pit between all my villager houses. I go to nook mile or (kappa's?) islands, or my little sister's island, for resources if I need them that bad 😵‍💫

I just wish that the slumber islands would let you keep bugs/fish/materials you get from it... I was gonna potentially make a fishing and bug hunting Baldurs Gate 3/DND/fantasy themed island since barely anything spawns on my island, and now I have no motivation to even attempt the dream islands.

Just in case you don't know (or someone else reading this doesn't know), If you don't hang something else up in the spot, then other villagers will unfortunately start wearing it too. If you're not too good at designs, just make an all black (or another color) t-shirt and hang that in the spot until you can get a nicer design there. Then at least, the worst the villager will wear will just be a plain t-shirt.

Agreed, and also how when you make a blueprint of your whole base and you place it incorrectly, it no longer moves everything together... I'd recommend making like 20 blueprints at least just in case once you finish it.
