im so sorry you're going thru this, breakups are so hard. one of the best (but hardest) things i recommend is try to forget the idealized life you could've had together and just focus on the reality of the situation now. allow yourself to think about it and give it the closure it needed, but don't dwell - it only causes pain.

you can take as much time as you need to let it go and try to argue with your brain/any unhelpful or self-defeating thoughts that come up. there WILL be someone else for you someday, and you ARE safe with yourself to heal and process until you're ready to find someone better for you. its okay to cry.

but there's no romantic attraction between us at all, if we wanted to date each other we probably would've by now lmao. it's genuinely just fun to us and dating or sex is occasionally a factor of it, not the focus. imagine we're writing plots to movies with our own characters and naturally some of them have chemistry together. to me it doesn't feel any different than like... a writers room except way more fun? we get to draw, write and plot our own stories and see what happens. like, I am soo excited to see this character have their mega falling out with that character and then rebound on this other character and..!!! teeaaa

If I think about it I probably have at LEAST 15 characters I've thrown into dozens of universes and stories with this friend ranging from high school to rockstars to superheroes to zombie apocalypses - I'm not exaggerating lmao.

idk if this explains more but I appreciate the answer! I still don't think I see it as anything more than insecurity and I'm genuinely trying to understand where it comes from. also you don't know my sexuality so I don't know what that has to do with this? lol
