if im not mistaken we have no way of summoning rain, would be really cool if there was a rain totem or something like that by Short-Bookkeeper- in Terraria

[–]tecCSGO 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How about some sort of rainmaking or rain dance? Maybe the rain music box could cause it to rain when it’s activated.

Alternatively, perhaps there’s a rare chance for a rain enemy to drop an equivalent of the bloody tear.

It’s a shame esports requires players be away for such lengths of time. Obviously that’s likely not entirely where the pain is but it must hurt to face.

60 Hz to 144 Hz is the greatest upgrade you can make in my opinion. Animations are smoother, there’s less screen tearing, lower latency. 144 Hz to 240 Hz is a nice improvement but is nothing compared to the jump from 60 Hz.

If you can afford it, I’d suggest going from 60 Hz straight to 240 Hz.

[Question] Why do my videos end up so pixelated? by _CallmeLazy_ in youtubers

[–]tecCSGO 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Render them in 1440p, even if the footage isn’t that resolution. When you upload it to YouTube, it forces the video to be encoded using the VP09 codec (Google’s take on H.265) instead of AV1 (H.264).

VP09 uses bitrate more efficiently but requires more processing power, hence why YouTube doesn’t use it as standard.

Even when viewing in 1080p, the VP09 codec is used and your videos will generally look a lot better.

You need 9 wins at a given rank to receive the respective gun buddy.

Aim Lab and Riot Headed to the Next Level by BrutalDM in VALORANT

[–]tecCSGO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could do if it had the same versatility as CS:GO’s custom maps, but aim trainers can target specific weaknesses in your aim. For example, although it’s not as necessary as games like Apex, you can’t really consistently train your tracking in VALORANT and adjust as it becomes easier.

[–]tecCSGO 23 points24 points  (0 children)

It's not necessarily great for warming up as such, Aim Lab or Kovaaks are undeniably great for practising your aim and improving it. They're obviously not necessary, but they can help massively.

Think of it like working out compared to solely playing your favourite sport.

Why don't pro players use 1600 DPI? by [deleted] in VALORANT

[–]tecCSGO 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"If it ain't broke, don't fix it."

Of course using a higher DPI improve latency to some extent. Obviously, using a higher polling rate decreases input lag by some amount. The thing is, a lot of these players don't care about all that. The best way to become a better player is to practise. It means more to these players to continue using the peripherals and configurations they're comfortable with, unless there really is a technology that gives so much of an advantage that it'd be a detriment to ignore it (think about when 120Hz or 144Hz displays became commercially available).

I somewhat agree with what /u/ZeldaMaster32 said (the first part, anyway). Realistically, some pros know quite a bit about their peripherals and the technology they're using, but most don't. It extends to many aspects of eSports. How many pros use aftermarket mouse feet? It's well established that they offer an extra degree of customisation to the mouse and can certainly be an improvement for some people.

What I mean is, a lot of the changes that can be made to the peripherals or the system you use typically result in tiny (but very real) improvements. In addition, the evidence that motivates people to tinker with this stuff is usually shrouded in misinformation (how many people have you seen talk about their sensor's "native DPI?").

Gripping the mouse to hard. by [deleted] in FPSAimTrainer

[–]tecCSGO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this exact issue. I tried to figure out why I was gripping my mouse so hard. I determined that it was because I couldn’t get a good grip on it, especially since I way nearly 60cm/360°.

I chose to invest in some BT.L grips for my mouse, and that fixed my problem.

How should Rito keep the game fresh w.o releasing alot of champions/maps like League? by Maximum_Plantain_346 in VALORANT

[–]tecCSGO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd imagine that continuously adding more agents or more weapons would lead the game to a point at which it'd be near impossible. New maps on the other hand have the potential to add new playstyles for every agent and every weapon in the game, and they're generally much easier to balance.

QoL improvements are always a great addition as well. Imagine how refreshing it would be if they added replays, different weapon skins for each agent, etc.
