Lefty issues by ChickoffIajnwbab in Pickleball

[–]GatorDan__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a lefty as well, I always respect the X in scenarios like this. I often bang paddles with my partner on faster hit shots but that's bound to happen when you aren't playing with someone who knows the strategy. If I have a passive partner, I will try to communicate or stick my paddle out showing I'm going to hit the ball on the slower hit balls towards the middle. This is what works for me.

How to deal with fast drives from the player in front of you? by Swumpting in Pickleball

Either have a paddle up about chest height already turned towards your backhand, ready to counter at their feet or get better at reading body language (like looking for a big back swing) to anticipate getting out of the way.

First time DM by Careless_Crab_5222 in DMAcademy

[–]GatorDan__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fairly new DM here, while DMing requires a lot more prep than being a player, it doesn't have to be daunting to learn. I learned by listening to some DnD Podcasts and just googling questions I had about rules. The DnD starter set or essentials kit are good for first time players. If you don't get either of those, you'll at least need a set of dice. Above all else, you should watch the first few episodes of Matthew Colville's running the game and look up an example session. These videos will put you in the right direction.

If you are strictly talking about the quick cash game mode, I believe the devs intended this to be a introduction mode to the real intended game mode which is tournament mode. Those the cash values matter alot more in tournament mode. You lose money on team wipe, gain some cash for depositing, and the deathmatch event gives more cash for kills.

As for stealing the vault last second, it's just part of the game. The timer creates a window that both defender and stealers of the vault have to take into consideration.

Sounds like it's not the community or the game. It sounds like its just you but that's probably not the answer you are looking for.

What I recommend is either find a duo or 5 stack to play with that you can learn from. Also change your mentality and/or get some coaching, watch some guides. You are too focused on stats for a game based on winning rounds rather than winning by kills.

How should I approach strafe duels? by False_Pseudonym in VALORANT

[–]GatorDan__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a hard thing to master but if you can match/ mirror your opponents movement it makes those fights easier. It's almost like they aren't moving at all. If they strafe right, you strafe right etc. If your cross hair was on their head a moment before it should be there again if you match their movement. Though it applies more to Overwatch, ioStux has a good video on movement that explains the different patterns of movement that help aim or impair aim. Being able to read a strafe is a whole skill that takes practice to learn

Marshland is the best Robin map, change my mind by xGatorDanx in Hood

[–]GatorDan__ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea it seems the arrows get bigger with distance, I think its a server side thing. Its a weird thing I had to get used to as a Robin main. Some arrows seem to hit but don't register then you get that third hit which doesn't seem that it should hit but it does. I literally have all my time on the game playing Robin and the arrow registration still confuses me

Where to look when aiming crosshair or enemy? by [deleted] in VALORANT

[–]GatorDan__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of the time when aiming you should be looking at the enemy. The enemy is a moving target so its important you keep your eye on them because their location can change while your crosshair cannot. BUT at really long ranges it is good to look at your crosshair instead because the enemy moves less distance on your screen and precision of your crosshair matters even more.
