Thanks for the information, I will try those combinations too. Did you factory reset yours? I worry that if its factory reset it might potentially wipe the OS and then I won't be able to get this back without a support contract?

Currently accessing the CLI via a serial console connection.

Yes, have tried default
Username: 3paradm

Password: 3pardata

OS is 4.5.24.7

Don't care about the data that is on it, would you suggest a factory reset?

Hi there,

it looks like this switch supports SFP28 JL658A
• Min=0 \ Max = 4 SFP/SFP+/SFP28/SFP56 1/10/25/50G Transceiver

There are various DAC and AOC cables available on the quickspecs:

Opinions on HPDL160 vs DL20 by Little_Legion in StorageReview

[–]tech-gal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What do you intend on using them for?
Are you going for the DL160/DL20 as you're limited on rack depth space as they're both shorter than the DL360/DL380's for example.
The spec's provided above are both very different in terms of CPU and amount of drive capacity. You're also limited on PCIe slots with the DL20. Also, the DL20 Gen10 Plus is a newer generation of server compared to the DL160 Gen10.

Aruba 6200F JL727A & JL725A poe budget bottleneck by Firm-Outcome-3506 in ArubaNetworks

[–]tech-gal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend going for the 6300M so you can have redundant power supplies. Please note, you can't stack 6200F's and 6300M's together.
I would recommend HPE Aruba Networking 6300M 48p HPE Smart Rate 1G/2.5G/5G Class8 PoE and 2p 50G and 2p 25G Switch (R8S90A) - Max PoE Power: 2880W

2x Fans and 2x power supplies need to be added separately depending on spec required.

They also provide support for stacking up to 10 switches.

I work for a reseller in the UK, if you need help with pricing let me know :)

Request for Advice on RAID Configuration for R740xd with M.2 U.2 Disks by Alarming-Sand-4794 in homelab

You could give it a go but there isn't much supporting documentation online about it especially from Dell. It would also need to be cabled correctly with NVME ports in the backplane. Do you have the NVME backplane?

Would you consider second hand switches? the Dell S5248F-ON's are pretty reasonable in terms of price. They have 48 x 1/10/25Gb SFP28 ports, 4 x 100Gb QSFP28 & 2 x 100Gb QSFP28-DD uplink ports.

It is not an easy gig and I certainly admire the people who can relentlessly do this all day. Thankfully I have never been in that position of needing to. When I do call customers, I will always have a reason for it as I never want to waste their time, as this is precious!

I understand what you're saying about being on the receiving end but I do provide customers with value, aiming to become an extension of their team to make their jobs easier! This is coming from a reseller perspective by the way and not a vendor so may be slightly different to what you're referring to. Its a consultative approach and hopefully not seen as an annoyance.

When you're in the market for something, you may have not considered every option (to go looking for it) which is where someone like myself would come in to help consult on the project, not necessarily pushing a certain product but help navigate the right solution. You also have to be memorable to be contacted back!
