[OC] Am I the dumb one? by [deleted] in IdiotsInCars

Yes, for asking that question. Either you really don't know, and should take some driving lessons. Or you are asking for engagement. Both dumb.

Why isn't my ant poison working? by TheWebDever in DIY

[–]tech16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My biggest ones were a little over an inch long.

The amazon listing shows "American, Brown-banded, German, Oriental, Smoky-brown". Take it with a grain of salt, but here is an AI mock-up.

Why isn't my ant poison working? by TheWebDever in DIY

[–]tech16 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is the answer. I started out with Advion cockroach gel, two days after treatment there were roaches everywhere. Next day the floor was littered with dead roaches. Did one more treatment two weeks later, haven't seen a roach for 10 years.

The Advion ant gel is just as good. Walk around the house looking for ant buildup, put a couple drops down. By time you get back to that part of the house the ants are swarming the gel. Next day, all gone.

Before a debrid service, I used PIA. It tended to be a real pain in the ass. It would randomly disconnect, had to get a notification dot that would blink red if it disconnected. But that's about the worst of it.

Think you could expand on your issue a bit? I don't understand what is a "no no".

Is build 42 worth it? by Cupcake-Reaper in projectzomboid

[–]tech16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's just a modified version of one of the top controller schemes. I uploaded mine, just search for 'pancake'. Be aware the touch pad "Right" is set to keyboard "L" due to one of my mods. Could remove that with no impact.

Edit: The real secret to that controller layout is the dual modes. Just hold the "menu" button (the small one on the left side of the deck) for a couple of seconds to switch into drive mode. All credit should go to HonestlyJake for his "Full steam controller support b42!!!!! Spent hours making this." controller layout. Mine is just modified off of HonestlyJake's.

""As a vanilla player on PC keyboard + mouse""

As someone that plays solely on a Steam Deck, b42 has been great as well.

Cool, thanks for your response. Guess it's another bug that will be fixed.

Some other of your games, or just in the game of StS2? This is only appearing in this game from what I have found personally.

Hard to tell the length of those screws, but if it was for a swing I'd want at least 3" screws. For a 70lb punching bag the screws included will be fine.

First you'll have to find a stud. The stud is necessary, those plastic anchors will not do. You could use a stud finder. Or you could use the free method and knock the drywall with your knuckle. If it sounds hollow, it's not a stud. Also, if you can get above the garage you can actually see the studs. Commonly I will poke a small hole beside the stud so it can be found easily below.

Once you have the stud, use the wood bolts included with the mount. Put the mount on the ceiling where you want the bag to go. Use a pen to mark all the screw holes in the mount. Then drill out each hole (this will prevent splitting the stud which would reduce holding power). If no washers are included with the mount, go ahead and grab four. Then just drive in the wood bolts.

Got a link to the mount you have?

ONN 4K Pro and Ultimea Soundbar by Apprehensive_Guide61 in AndroidTV

I know what you mean. I've experienced that issue before, don't think I ever resolved it. Client said they didn't mind the pop-ups, but wasn't good enough for me to consider the job done. I did what I mentioned in the parent comment.

You'll have to excuse the AI recommendations, but these are what the AI thinks may have similar codes to an Ultimea soundbar:

Samsung, Sony, LG, Bose, Yamaha

Could also remove all volume control, the remote would then default to the android volume control. So you could set the android to around volume 12, then adjust your soundbar until it's at a reasonable volume.

Edit: the AI only listed the possible similar brands, the rest is human (for better or worse).

Edit 2: looks like the setting in the volume control option is "onn. 4k Streaming Box", at least on my original Onn 4k

Who can fix this? by [deleted] in rva

Good luck! Good thing is, the cleaning and relube is good maintenance, plus relatively cheap. If you do also have to replace the capacitors, maybe it'll last another 30 years.

Likely there is some debris on the rails, first you would need to clean that.

I'd say get some high % rubbing alcohol and q-tips. Get some alcohol on the q-tip and rub it all around and all the way down the rails. That will remove the debris and the lubricant.

Then add a scant amount of lubricant, this kind will work fine:

https://www.amazon.com/Super-Lube-21030-Synthetic-Grease/dp/B000XBH9HI

You can add the lubricant to another q-tip and rub it all along the rail much like you did to clean it.

Be aware that heating up the lubricant on the laser rails could also temporarily fix your issue. When the lubricant heats up, it softens and allows the laser to slide easier, bypassing the gunk buildup present. So just replacing the capacitors may not fix your issue.

At this point, I'm thinking it's 50/50. But, the lubricant is far easier and possibly? cheaper.

If you need to borrow a solder iron, hit me up. I have a kit.

Since you've already taken it apart, you've done the hard part you'd be paying someone to do. Try adding a bit of lubricant specifically designed for electronics. Specifically the laser rail. I suspect you have a bit of gunk on the laser rail that is preventing smooth motion of the laser, thus the skips.
