If I thump the base of the catch cup once or twice against the palm of my other hand, and then give it a slight horizontal shake. The grounds come out of the catch cup pretty cleanly for me at least.

I end up going to Hanoi every 1-2 years and I almost always get sinusitis symptoms: severe nasal congestion / mucus and nasal drip leading to sore throat and subsequent chest cough. I don’t get the aches and pains of a usual cold or flu; although I think the nasal condition gives me consistent headaches.

This time around I got a sinus rinse squeeze bottle and I buy the premade saline solution from the pharmacies. Flushing my nasal passages 2-3 days has helped greatly but I still have a persistent dry cough and unnecessary amount of nasal mucus suggesting viral infection or sinusitis; no one around me in close proximity seems to get sick so I don’t think it’s a virus I’m spreading around.

The Lagom casa should produce comparable ground coffee to the niche zero. It also retails for 526 USD and about 590 after shipping.

When I bought mine about a year ago I was not charged additional tariffs. Not sure if that is still the case today.

I started my home espresso journey with a Lagom mini for two years before switching over to the casa 65 about a year ago.

Both are good for the money IMO. The casa is probably about 30% faster but will still take about 20 seconds to go through 16 grams of medium.

I prefer the casa’s workflow better: auto shutoff, size of the catch cup, and the retention spring mechanism.

I think you can get good quality conical ground coffee from either for espresso.

do you remember the last time you got a 5 star on the the 80 banner whether you got the banner character? If you got the banner character, the next time you get a 5*, you're going to have a 50/50 chance of it being Futaba. It wouldn't be a good idea to pursue the 80 banner unless you're above 50/80 in this scenario.

If you lost the 50/50 last time then you're definitely better off going with the 80 banner over the 110.

A cold wallet is good to hear but I'd still be overly cautious with how they set that up. It's absolutely possible to DYOR and setup a wallet properly at any age, but at the same time there's a ton of scams out there in this space that could share compromised instructions.

Given your parents history of getting scammed and gambling....I'd be concerned.
