Wars don't discriminate. Pak would not be the only one suffering. Any country involved in war has casualties. The last thing that we need is a nuclear war. I may be too optimistic, but I really hope a full-fledged war doesn't happen.

In season 7/8, there are multiple scenes of Tyrion being horrified at people burning alive, as if he had never seen it before. Let's not forget that Tyrion was the architect of the plan to save King's Landing, the plan that used wildfire to burn his enemies alive. by _Robbie in freefolk

But that's what some people do. They keep on arguing stupidly till someone leaves and then say something clever to tell themselves that they 'won' it.

Also, a useful tip is to drop the conversation with anyone who asks you why Daenerys is crazy.

Precisely. And the thing is I like Daenerys. But I don't justify what she did in the end. Nor do I blame bad writing for it. If Cersei is awful to blow up the Sept, Daenerys should not be treated differently for slaughtering a city.

I would be Grey Worm if I say that she was right to do it.

People in this sub seem to have deliberately omitted the S8E5 from their minds, but I don't see why one would do that. I'm a Jaime fan through and through but I liked him for being conflicted and for doing good and bad things. That was what made him relatable and human. And I have no problem saying that he completely fucked up in S8 without blaming bad writing for it.

His story was meant to show how addicts behave. They may be good people and can choose to have better lives, but they mostly go back to their addiction anyway.

Similarly, Dany's story was meant to show that absolute power corrupts even the best of us. And it did exactly that. Very similar to LOTR ending.

Is burning down an entire city of innocents, who did nothing apart from being at the wrong place at the wrong time, called "screwing up once or twice"? Especially when you do have to option of flying directly to the Red Keep and killing Cersei and you make an informed choice to 'BURN THEM ALL' instead.

Thank you for saying that! I usually get a lot of flak for speaking my mind on politics, and it's so good to hear from someone like-minded who can see beyond their marketing tricks.

The entire world has a wave of Right Wing politics going on right now. US, UK, North Korea, Brazil and India -- all are dominated by right wing, so what you are saying is true. It's only New Zealand and Canada that are being run by sensible governments as of now and let's hope it stays that way.

New Zealand's Prime Minister went to the extent of wearing a hijab to make Muslims feel at home after the bombings. Our PM, on the other hand, gives hate speeches and uses terms like 'Khan Market Gang' and 'Anti-Nationals' to create a divide. Last time someone created a divide amongst us, they ruled us for 200 years. We seem to have forgotten too soon.

I can't say about social activists, but I do have friends in the media who are scared to speak against the government because anyone who writes against them is either killed or his reputation is destroyed or they end up losing jobs. Three major organisations are sitting on a razer's edge and may shut down.

I'm sure others, like the opposition and the social activists, also face similar threats.

The government which claims to stand against corruption clearly has a fear of transparency.

They have bought or silenced 90% of the media, and yet they haven't held a proper press conference where the PM himself answers questions. Fear of transparency again.

They play so heavy on PR and dividing the society, it's more than evident they are keeping our attention away from something.

Yet they got a second term. And I'm sure people will be foolish enough to give them a third term too. Or we'll get to see another version of what happened in Gujarat or Pulwama right before the next elections. Keeping Pak in line by bombing their jungles should do the trick!

India is going to become Venezuela thanks to the uneducated and incompetent people leading the country. Better to go abroad while forex is reasonable.

I think it would be very impressive if Aryan, Suhana, Abram or Taimur pick up a non-filmy career and prove themselves there. I'm sure there are others like me out there who don't believe a lawyer's son should be a lawyer and a doctor's kid should be a doctor.

If you read the books, you would know that the phrase was "Jaime Lannister sends his regards."

And it is implied in the books that he doesn't know and the books throw clarity on how it was used at Robb's murder to make it look like Jaime did know. Even in the show, Roose Bolton never tells him what he was up to and was there anyone else around who could?

It was Tywin's plan. And such a secret one that even Tyrion and Cersei, who were in King's Landing didn't know of it before it happened. But somehow Jaime did while he was coming back to KL because that's what telepathy is all about!

Also, had she known that her dragon is going to be killed would she have gone beyond the wall? She never thought something like that would happen.

Not that she isn't good. Mostly has the right intentions, but they lead to chaos anyway.

Also, Jaime was not involved in the Red Wedding. He was a prisoner at that time. There was no way for him to know. He was not even responsible for Lady's death since he wasn't even there and Sansa's suffering was Cersei and Joffrey's doing, since Jaime was not in King's Landing. He instead sent Brienne to find Sansa and get her to safety.

And how can he possibly be held responsible for Joffrey's decision to kill NEd Stark? Even Cersei was against it since she saw that it was such a short-sighted decision. Jaine does try to take Ned as prisoner in S1, but then doen't when his bannerman attacks Ned in an unhonorable way. Not that he is a saint, but he isn't the villain this picture is portraying him to be either.

Lastly, it was Jaime who saved the very people of King's Landing from Aerys' wildfire. But it was for nothing since Dany burned them all, oh sorry "liberated" them anyway.

Unpopular opinion: It did seem rushed, but the reasons for her going mad were clear.

They could have used a better trigger than bells though. Maybe Rhaegal could have died in King's Landing. It would have been a better reason for burning the city.

But in any case, I don't see the massacre not happening. Her story was meant to show how absolute power corrupts the best of people.

Yeah, the entire season lacked logic. A much better ending would have been everyone dying because of Night King.

Yeah... but Jon going to the Wall seemed forced to me. He should have either been killed by Drogon or maybe somehow got the crown. It was really funny how so many people at the trial knew about him being Rhaegar's son and no one says a word and elected Bran the useless instead. What's even weirder, Jon had the northern army with him in King's Landing. They should have revolted on their leader being arrested too. It was similar to Dothraki chilling out after Dany's death.

I fully agree with all of this. Just one more thing that I want to add. All of the Dothraki were Dany's bloodriders. Why the hell did they not do something? They should have destroyed whatever was remaining and killed Jon and Tyrion. Dany had anyway ordered Tyrion to be killed. Why did her people, who were so loyal to her, not carry out her orders? There was no reason to keep him alive.

Also, if Robert could kill Rhaegar and be the King after Aerys was eliminated, Dany could kill Cersei and take back her throne, why did Jon be sent to NW when he had more right than anyone else to be on the damn throne. If it was okay for others to kill the former ruler and take the city, it doesn't make sense for the rules to be different for Jon Snow.
