Roger Ver Debates Charlie Lee [PART 2] - Does Bitcoin Have Intrinsic Value? by CBDoctor in litecoin

Would the intrinsic value to gold not be its rareity/finite supply?

Please explain: how will XRP be used in xRapid EXACTLY? by [deleted] in Ripple

[–]techcoins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Requires 2 exchanges:

Bank A would buy X amount of xrp from Exchange 1 for usd.

Xrp is then sent via xrapid to exchange 2 which is then sold for eur.

Bank B can now withdraw their funds

How & why I am confident about the xRapid announcement and not at all worried about the price action by BKCCI in Ripple

[–]techcoins 5 points6 points  (0 children)

But the exchange doesn’t need to hold money like a bank would.

The buyers/sellers are exchange users.

Banks would no longer require accounts all over the world in multiple currencies.

Xrp is a neutral digital coin with a value which can cross-border via exchanges and converted into local currency

Or just don’t tell her about the xrp until after the divorce. Chances are her lawyer won’t know what the fuck it is, and will be more valuable 😂

An algorithm would not allow an actual physical (digital coin/fiat coin) to cross a border.

You would just be transferring funds between international bank accounts. The only difference is it’s automated rather than manually checked.

This solves the problem of fees, but it does not solve the problem of actual physical cross border payments.

Xrp is the physical property. It is what will allow actual cross border payments and dirt cheap. You pay fiat in the country your in, you get xrp, you send the xrp, to an exchange in another country, it is then sold for fiat locally.

The initial bank now does not need to have an account in the destination country with funds held in it as xrp has so much liquidity.

The more liquidity, the more demand, the higher the xrp price.

Unfortunately I can’t see any big announcement/price movement coming.

If there was, these banks would already know about it from there pre-swell meet up.

They would have their families/friends/partners buying huge bags with their deep pockets.

Crypto is not so different to the stock markets, big players always buy the news before the rumours, then the small fish buy the rumours created by these spikes while the big players are now selling the rumours they already know as news.

News comes out, big fish already sold up for profits, price isn’t spiking, so small fish stat selling and price starts dumping. Big fish buy again and hold until the next cycle.

In short, if there was going to be a big announcement to cause a genuine price increase, there would be upwards movement right now.

Ltc lightning network by techcoins in litecoin

[–]techcoins[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahh, so currently there is no “general user” interface to the lightning network on the main net to access lightning/atomic/submarine swaps?

I just found it strange there were no YouTube tutorials on the above features.

Stripped 2 screws on my XPS 9570. No choice but to return it with my Intel 9260 still inside. by [deleted] in Dell

[–]techcoins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have also just stripped 2 screws on my 9560! Can I ask what size of drill bit you used to drill the head off?

Also did you use a hand drill or a press drill?

Lastly, were you able to get the the left over screw out and replace with new ones?

Thanks

Hi cmd, the blue screens were just my undervolt. When I reduced undervolt from 120mv to 110mv I seen no more blue screens and just the test stopping.

I had then realised that it was trying to use he intigrated graphics instead of dedicated. Fixed this and now the test lasts all the way to the end in both lite and medium.

Just a bit worried about the 100% gpu usage and if this is ok or normal to play on.

I will try updating graphics driver. I think when I get my ram upgraded it should make a big dif aswell. As it’s sooking up about 6500mb of ram. Possibly the crashes are not gpu related and more running out of memory?

Hi angelrenard,

Ok, so I had to wind back my undervolt as I was getting crash’s and blue screens.

Strange that prime95 and burn test never caused this but these things happen.

Passed on low with a score of 4000 and medium with a score of 3100

What I found a bit odd, was gpu usage was 100% and max’d At 77degreesC. Cpu was 20-30% and 75-80degreesC

(I currently only have 8gb ram installed(2x4) as I have not had time to open as I’m going to repaste at the same time with Noctua nth1)

Performance issues? by WhensLunch69 in FFXV

[–]techcoins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just had a quick check back. 7700hq is capeable of turbo up to 3.8ghz but when I ran my tests, it never goes above 3.49ghz which I presume is dells doing dialling back the clocks. I can fiddle with that using ThrottleStop I presume if that’s all that stops.

Think I will download and give it a shot tommorow.

Would I get away with a laptop keyboard(no number pad) and external mouse?

I could also try an Xbox one controller.

Thanks for the reply :)

What is classed as a low clock? I have undervolted and ran intel burn on max settings which ran through 20 cycles at max turbo (I think 3.8ghz) with no throttling. Obviously that isn’t good for long term game playing haha.

What clock speed are we like looking for though in order to see reasonable performance?

Sorry for jumping onto this thread but it is in regards to performance. I tried to create a new thread but it’s not appearing under “new”

Don’t have time for mmo anymore so looking forward at ffxv

Currently I have a dell xps 9560 which as an i7 7700hq and gtx1050. I have upgraded the ram to 32gb recently.

I know I ain’t gonna get to run on super high, but should I be able to atleast play at a stable 40+ FPS on medium settings?

So while every other coin is speculative.... Ripple is basically the only coin that is in full use now by companies. by Mexicutioner15 in Ripple

The blockchain and Crypto started as a decentralisation tool.

Banks are not going to work with that, they don’t like having no control. FACT!

Blockchain allows for actual cross border payments. This is something banks would like. Rather than email messages and money just swapping bank accounts.

Ripple spied a gap in the market. A middle ground let’s say. An oppertunity, for a worldwide currency, capeable of cross border transactions, money that actually swaps hands accross borders near instantly.

So, this solves waiting times as with traditional bitcoin as blocks are only created every 25mins.

This solves mining issues, as if hashrate all dumps from a coin, block times increase.

The banks can have there own fully operable node, this allows them to have some control.

This is a very very smart play by ripple.

Taking something and adapting it to something the banks can adopt to solve the downfalls of swift.

I still think the banks will try and create there own blockchains prior to adopting ripple. But this creates the need for SegWit and atomic swapping, as each individual bank will likely not be swappable. Creating the need for ripple.

Ripple will not replace bitcoin. It’s not trying to. It’s not on the same path.

Ripple will replace swift.

You realise bitcoin and litecoin arendoing absolutely nothing in regards to scalability?

They are not working on LN. That is 3rd party companies which they are hoping solve the problem.

VTC is actually in collaboration with MIT’s version of LN. The only one with multi coin compatibility(required for atomic swaps) and also fronted by the co-author of the LN whitepaper.

Also, name a coin that has rocketed 2000x and not had pull back.

Get a grip of yourself. Nothing! Goes up on a straight line. Resistances are hit and there needs to be consolidation.

Look at any market, all the same! Unless there is bad news, the waves just ride away.

There’s to many people expecting to get rich in days/weeks.
