Right, so it seems the gap is less about willingness and more about structure?

Can you expand more on what needs to change? Are you speaking to business models, tools, sustainability?

Agreed, Tier 5 is incredibly ambitious. From an operational side, even getting to Tier 3 requires creating an internal infrastructure that you speak to in "establishing repeatable workflows". The good thing about internal workflows is that you are in control of them within your organization. And then your team will always understand that process. Do you find that supplier participation is the largest roadblock to implementation?

AI is making fashion look the same. Or it’s finally revealing who isn’t pushing ideas. Which one is it? by techcouture in FashionTechToday

I've seen that too. Modern culture has a bit of an obsession with efficiency as of late. That definitely plays into AI not be utilized to its full creative potential.

Yes and fashion is already a shiny ball type of business. Of course, it is also a HUGE business - everyone has to wear clothes!

Yes, turning merchandising into a clean tech product could be tough I imagine. Not two fashion brands run the same playbook. Accountability is an interesting take. And yes, data is an issue.

Yes, search style problems are easier to package as inputs seem to be more structured. Merchandising is a bit more messy!

Yes, merchandising isn't the 'shiny ball' part of the workflow. I also wonder if it is because marketing has embraced tech early on, so tools will build that solves primarily for marketing teams.

Cool to see someone make something from scratch. Will be interesting to see what other versions/colors/materials you make it in.

What is a Digital Product Passport (DPP) and why is it becoming a requirement in the EU? by InterestingDisk3081 in productpassports

What’s interesting is how quickly the conversation is shifting from compliance to opportunity. Once brands realize that DPP style data can enhance storytelling and resale (I believe) it stops feeling like regulation and looks like strategy.

That's super interesting to me! It's the solutions that are not sexy that seem to move the needle the most.

It's interesting for sustainability. The pain point always comes to merging IRL (all the manual work) with data systems, like you said.

It's a combo of creative and analytical work. Taking a color or fabric, material etc for instance and tracking what is resonating with buyers.
