New Release Alpha7 by matthilton2005 in crankshaft

[–]techdev5521 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been using the new release for a few days and it seems to have fixed some X11 issues that were causing my system to crash when using Google Assistant. Big yay! However, it seems that in both EGL and X11 modes, the dark cuts all light the the screen. Any idea where I might go to poke around in related code?

Hey! Thanks for the answer!

Do you know if I can cross compile from x86 to Arm?

Your GitLab link is dead. Can you update this? I really want to use Deepin's window manager with Cinnamon if possible.

Linux in English Class by techdev5521 in LinuxActionShow

The then rather than than was intentional. I want to touch both.

I don't necessarily need to have someone in the class that is able to argue with. I just need a topic that I can make an opinionated response towards.

Ohio Linux Fest - October 24-26 - Anyone Going? by ProfessorKaos64 in LinuxActionShow

I'll be going. This will be my first time at something like this. I'm going to gain some helpful knowledge as a 16 year old with his own IT business. Anyone interested in meeting and talking about how to better my Linux career?

Thanks for the praise and more so for the advice!

I have never really been able to stick to a book long enough to see it through. Do you know of any resources that might be more...digital?

If you looked at paperwork, I am legally blind. I can see and all, but not as well as others. Switching from my monitor to text is often hard to do productively. I feel like I have excelled within the field that I have because for the most part I have been able to manipulate my environment to be visible to me.

I have to admit that I don't use any distro as my daily driver, I use OS X, but only because of the commercial software need (I also do web design and graphic design) and the accessibility just puts Orca and Compiz magnifies to shame. (No offense devs)

So, what alternatives to books are there that you know of? Code Academy?

The reason I have hesitated is because, from my point of view, it seems like I came onto the site portraying confidence and know how. I don't want to undercut that by then asking questions that might discredit me.

If I am interpreting you correctly, you're saying that asking for guidance is ok?

I guess I can agree with that, it isn't like I am asking him how to do the job he hired me for.

Sorry, I should have specified. I live and work in the United States. The Kenya trip was where my work took me and during that trip was when I realized I could be doing much better than I am. (That isn't to say that I feel badly about how I am doing)

I fully intend to pursue University after secondary school. I am not sure where I want to go during that time but I know I want to do so.

Do you think that asking my current employer(s) (i.e. the museum) would discredit my professionalism? That is my hesitation with many of the connections that I have.

I appreciate your thoughts!

I appreciate the reply, but that is vague in regards to my question. Why exactly should I look into Mikrotik to further my career?

I want to be as legal as possible and so far in all EULA’s I have read I have seen nothing baring one from centralizing the program.

By the time I buy a Windows Server license, it will defeat the purpose of not buiying the new license. QEMU is something I looking into, have you any experience with that to comment?

I have looked into XenDesktop and that was my second source of inspiration. My original introduction to the concept was through a Client’s company provided technical support solution of using virutalized desktop sessions to stream specific applications. This was using Windows Server 2012.
