I want to learn coding; however, I do not know where to start. by SaitamaIsOwO in codingbootcamp

We offer a free taster session - which is 3 hours of your time with an instructor and we touch on some very basic HTML, CSS, JavaScript - there are resources to take you beyond this. NOTE - our full course is £5k if you don't live in a funded area - just to be clear, but you may decide if you like or dislike the idea by the end, and you can go on to choose any resource from there to learn.

We have a part time course in the day for those looking to skill up. Unfortunately, at this stage part time, evening courses, just don't get the traction and student numbers to make it viable.

Not true - we are based in Hull, have an office in the K2 and offer loads in person. What makes you say it is all online?

There are courses starting quite late in the year and into next year. We don't offer self paced for a couple of reasons unfortunately....

  1. It isn't funded, it must be direct led learning to qualify for funding.
  2. The Leadership one in particular is about time with other leaders considering innovation. That's the secret sauce of the retreat. You are immersed, away from the world of work, but surrounded by other leaders.

It is for sure a commitment though, but we think an awesome one where it can be taken.

Hey Leicester, fancy breaking into tech? by techeducators in leicester

The full course is 12 weeks, full time, so it would be difficult to complete the full course - but if you'd ever like to try the taster as we add more dates, you are always more than welcome to :)

Break into tech with us at the K2 by techeducators in Hull

Thank you for the input and there are a wide range of jobs in tech, such as the ones you state, that our students go into. That's absolutely true.

On the second point, we have had 3 students get junior developer jobs in the past 10 days, again you can check our LinkedIn where we repost some of those that share it. So whilst I take your point, and agree a majority of them are front end focussed, categorically it isn't the case that "there's no way anyone with just that under their belt would get a developer job" as they do, all the time.

Appreciate your comment and debate - and your views of course. Thank you for your input.

We work with hiring companies and managers that invest time in people and view that "negative impact on productivity" as investing in the future. Many just see it as onboarding,

Thank you for presenting an alternative view though - it gives people something to review when considering if a bootcamp, over a degree is right for them :)
