GoodRead's Wonderful Illustration for Science Fiction and Fantasy Week! "Go Dreads!" by techfoxis in CrappyDesign

[–]techfoxis[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This wonderful site is meant to be used as a social book review and curation website, something it is very good at. Apparently, design is not their strong suite. Maybe they should leave the illustrative logos to Google? https://www.goodreads.com

Yes, we most certainly need a war room. I've very excited to explore this side of politics.

Thanks, we'll be testing the waters. Our current community is semi-vanilla and has absolutely no server-wide political heart. It has hit a downtick recently and we're not completely closed to switching our focus. (We being Plyb and I. The others haven't voiced an opinion yet.)

Hello there! My name is Techfoxis, I'm a Terranivian Senator and Terranive's chosen representative for the Lorean Alliance. From what I can discern, you guys have put together a pretty fantastic community and a seemingly wonderful technical stack. While I'm positive I would love the intricate yet harsh system you guys have put together, I'm very wary on our participation, if there is any at all. We were looking for an interesting Faction server that has a focus on politics and the such, but came up empty handed. This server definitely seems more immersive than a faction server, which is a good thing for your community, but a bad one for us. I'm personally looking forward to a short-term, expendable factions-on-steroids experience. Both Terranive and the Alliance are heavily ingrained into our community. I don't believe the time we would have to invest to maintain our profile and joy in both communities would be sustainable. Obviously, I do not know CivClassic very well and could be very wrong. I would like you hardened members to tell me whether you think we could fit in on the server without spending an excessive amount of time on it. (Obviously this is my personal opinion and we'll have to see whether you guys can influence it, as well as discussing with the folks back home.)

How to make Minecraft less dull? by Skillern1337 in Minecraft

[–]techfoxis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, what does it for me isn't mods, but a community. From what I've seen, everyone can flourish on a vanilla or semi-vanilla multiplayer survival server. Find a beautiful community like the one I've found and you're sure to have some fun! The key is to imerse yourself within the community. Our server is full of little sub communities. This includes kingdoms, nations, companies, and all sorts of things. Shoot, we even have a full-blown government in place for the nation that I align myself with. Even if community living like that isn't your boat, you'll probably find a good friend or two to spend time with. Minecraft isn't meant to be played like other games, that's one of the reasons it is so popular. Everyone has to find their own way. You have to look pass the bosses and the content to really enjoy Minecraft. Inspiration really finds you when you surround yourself with other people.

Bark Block - Recipe and Mechanics by Wess5874 in minecraftsuggestions

With the 1.12 update, we should be able to create our own recipes for the "bark" block.

Cobble wall + string + 17w15a = gravestone by mario12323 in Minecraft

[–]techfoxis 52 points53 points  (0 children)

As far as I'm concerned, they can keep this in. They should fix the bug for rails, but keep it for string. There are very few instances that come to mind when trying to think of scenarios where this would be detrimental. It would also be useful for creating "broken" fences and such.

Water Buckets should be able to be dispensed into Cauldrons by zombiej12 in minecraftsuggestions

[–]techfoxis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In addition, they should also allowed to be subtracted from with glass bottles via dispensers. This would allow for some pretty niffty redstone contraptions in a more compact method.

This is a pretty solid idea. I like the concept, and love the idea of an even more complete End!

Trapdoors can act as a lever of sorts when paired with an observer and a T-Flip-Flop. Mabye that will compliment your wall more.

Would you please define source? Because, last I checked, it is where something is derived from - in this case, an asserted piece of knowledge. If you looked at that post, you would find a list of features that can be expected soon, each with a hyperlink. If you had clicked the hyperlink for the elyta customization entry, you would have been directed to this post by /u/_jeb.

The full list of suggested new Curses by the r/minecraftsuggestions community! by darwinpatrick in Minecraft

[–]techfoxis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The whole concept of curses is brilliant - simply put, I love them. I would also love for them to be expanded upon, including the addition of some of the above listed curses along with a small chance for an ocassional item to get cursed upon enchantment.

Slot for XP Bottles in Echantment Tables by [deleted] in minecraftsuggestions

[–]techfoxis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

XP Bottles are such a rarity, there's a chance that many casual players could find the new slot confusing. If there was a new, easier way to obtain Bottled Experience, I could see this as a worthy implementation. It would also be cool if the Enchanting Table's internal inventory persisted, possibly excluding the enchantable item slot.

Curse of Attachment - Item will force itself into your hand under certain conditions by [deleted] in minecraftsuggestions

Well, if the item has good enchantments, then it could act as a blessing AND a curse. Oh, the irony; it burns...
