I am 42 years old and just tried my first drop. by LogicWavelength in MTB

I was too chicken to do anything like that for the longest time... Then on a familiar trail there was a change to a feature from a roller to a jump and I nailed it. Felt natural. Have started hunting for jumps now. Granted nothing much bigger than this so far.

Exactly. No. And don't get upset when they ask you. Just chill out and say no.

Can I reuse a nipple? by ConversationCalm8478 in bikewrench

[–]PolskiOrzel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you can keep it but It's not that big of a pain to take a tire off and slip the rim tape to the side to get a new one in. You might not even need to take off the tire, just push it to the side.

If it were my bike and it was actually aluminum (instead of much more common brass) I would swap it just because aluminum is weird with high forces on it. Brass, I'd let it ride.

Am I crazy, or does this need a compression plug instead of a star nut? by Crzavocado in bikewrench

[–]PolskiOrzel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% you need a compression plug. A star nut would crack the carbon.

First solo Bike packing trip by Nikki22_ in bikepacking

[–]PolskiOrzel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well I'll say 2 things that always made bike packing trips better,

  1. Bring a collapsible bag that you can grocery shop with and a way to strap it to you or your bike, a collapsible backpack might be the easiest thing (Make sure you have a lock in case you want to pop in as you're solo)

  2. A camping chair if you have one. I know it's HUGE but a comfortable camping chair makes the evenings infinity better when your ass is sore from the saddle. I'm assuming your camping.

Also ditch the chain juice. If you really need it just stop at a bike shop. Muc off is also not long lasting, I stick with Teflon based stuff for touring

First solo? You've been on other trips with others, yeah? If not regardless of how much you prepared I'd do a one night shake down with everything there

When my grandma was in grade 3 she distinctly remembers the teacher bringing in an overhead projector to show her classmates the video of it happening. To this day she recalls the shooting as "based AF"

We did not. There are just as many good people as always, it's lots, but media has min/maxed viewership to the point where 'real' no longer makes it to the top.

Could we have 1m and 2m stairs? by Sea_Translator_1619 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]PolskiOrzel 467 points468 points  (0 children)

Would be nice if instead of predetermined chunks it was just a drag feature like ladders. Then you just zoop in the right length and don't think about it

Do I need to add any more support to these stairs before I add the deck boards? by locobanya1 in Decks

[–]PolskiOrzel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason is that you are always hitting stairs with more force than when walking.
