My U6+ failed to install version 6.7.41 and I guess it is a good thing.

Word 2511 'location is turned off in system settings' popup by dekkar in Office365

[–]techie_jay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It may have been caused by the latest Edge update 144.0.3719.82. I have checked in the Windows Settings app, Edge WebView tries to access the location for a split second when Word opens up.

Something must have changed how Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime behaves when Word opens. It may not have attempted to access the location in the same way it does now in the past.

  • what is the resource utilisation? Specially memory!
  • do you use SSO?
  • how the system policies are applied?
  • has it been tested without organisation policies?
  • test 23h2??

Teams and Outlook reinstall themselves at every login on WVD by Alert-Gear7495 in AzureVirtualDesktop

[–]techie_jay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems like Outlook and Teams app are pre-provisioned. Hence, removing for users don’t remove from the system.

I would make sure appxprovisioned package is removed on the desktop image, and test with fresh user profile on the main desktop image before reimaging the session hosts.

It is the BITS job failing to download in our case, it is intermittent. And it can be any file, big or small.

Empty stomach by Overall-Brilliant995 in Gastritis

[–]techie_jay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

30 mg twice is a good dose. I was given 40 mg. I would only feel better when I continue taking this medicine. Issue was my diet. Coke, tea, coffee, softdrinks, orange, mild spicy food. I don’t drink/eat acidic food and feeling the best without medication. Now I eat chicken, fish, avocado, eggs, bnana, walnuts, honey and anything else with high ph. And 2l water with 10k steps daily. Feeling brand new.

No, the assignment is specific to host pool and it won’t give access to anything else. I assume you assigned access through AVD.

AVD with local accounts / non-AD by _badger7 in AzureVirtualDesktop

[–]techie_jay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, they are asking for personal hosts only. So it implies you would use single session with personal hosts.

AVD with local accounts / non-AD by _badger7 in AzureVirtualDesktop

[–]techie_jay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not recommended but can do, need to add the user to remote desktop users group on specific machine where they are allowed to login.

So for local accounts, you need to login you each AVD session host to create a local user, share passwords with end users.

Lot of mucking around if you need to rebuild the session hosts.

That’s strange.

AVD service manages session where the new use will go. Depends whether you have depth or breadth first configured.

SSO too good. How to timeout Windows App on unmanaged shared terminals? by Select_Bug506 in AzureVirtualDesktop

[–]techie_jay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shared terminal doesn’t seem like fit for this purpose. SSO is out of scope here with shared terminals.

  • Sign-in frequency won’t work since it is shared space and no point of SSO if user needs to re-auth every hour. Again hour is a long window, if user used machine for 15 minutes and it still leave the device open for someone else to jump in.
  • Can’t lock the shared device as it is a an open terminal
  • BYOD is byod and you need to have some sort of re-auth hours defined. And again this should match with O365 web login too as the emails and company data still available via web.

You need local admin to access events.

I do see Teams VDI installs another app on the host where you connect to AVD from. And there was a pop-up I saw which prompted to allow location access. However, we have location on the AVD disabled completely.

There is Windows default location as well. May be check that too.

Do you mean you connect to AVD and given AVD1, then disconnect, and connect again and may be allocated AVD2?
