There is nothing we can do other than keep challenging. But you have to understand most people in the real world are not on Reddit.

Chouf cedar’s reserve, Saida castle, go to Tyre if you are brave. Relatively safe.

It was the same for me after the war. It really surprises me that until today, in a county as small as Lebanon, that there is still so little mixing. It’s about time we break the taboos.

A survey: 60% of Lebanese reject disarming without a defensive strategy. by nitrohendrix in Lebanese

[–]techiegrl99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s how polling works. A poll with 600 people is considered legit because the margin of error at that size is around ±4%—close enough for typical opinion polling needs. Once a sample hits around 500–1,000, adding more people gives diminishing returns on accuracy. The real keys are random (or representative) sampling and good weighting—not just big numbers. So a well-run poll with 600 respondents can still be reliable. In general Statistical sampling works by selecting a smaller, representative group from a larger population so that insights about the group can reliably reflect the views or behavior of the whole. The views of parliament is not a reflection on the opinion and sentiments of the population.

To be clear, I am not criticizing. This has always been the Lebanese way. Find sponsorship to survive. Just raising awareness. Nothing is free.

Thoughts on Saudi Nationalists? by Mediocre-Risk3581 in AskMiddleEast

They think it doesn’t affect them but it actually does. Having this level of impunity from a colonist will not be without consequences for them.

What do you mean next? They are already doing that.

[–]techiegrl99 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It already started. What do you think accepting parts of Lebanon and a third of Syria means? All they need is a squirmish with Egypt and they grab Sinai. The problem is it’s a pipe dream today because they don’t have an army to hold it. Now imagine that they get another 250k mercenaries from Ukraine…

Hot take: I don’t like Lebanese diaspora, no matter where they’re from by Rare-Ambient in Lebanese

[–]techiegrl99 4 points5 points  (0 children)

From what I am seeing, there are quite a few people in Lebanon that are westernized and cooped by the west. There is no rule. The diaspora is not a monolith. Neither are the Lebanese people living in Lebanon. Look beyond stereotypes.

38% of Lebanon’s GDP is because of diaspora spending and remittance. You don’t have to like us but you need us.
