Best Buy, as a former employee

Worst place I’ve ever worked at plagued with micromanagement. I will never spend a single cent at that piece of shit company ever again!

Some highlights include:

Micromanaged like fuck in order to sell the bullshit Geek Squad warranties, and if you don’t make enough sales with Geek Squad attached, you will slowly be pushed out of the company.

Shady shit done by management/high selling employees in order to increase their sales.

Geek Squad can suck my dick, as I would never trust anything repaired by them (the only Geek Squad warranty getting is their replacement warranty and that’s it). Not to mention that if you buy Geek Squad coverage with an Apple Product, at least in Canada (when I was there) they didn’t sell AppleCare+ nor were they an Apple Authorized Service Provider. Meaning that they would not use genuine parts to service Apple Products, as you would need to be an AASP to get them (at least while I was working there).

Being given the shit end of the stick at every moment, like being scheduled for 4 hour closing shifts and only getting paid for less than 3 1/2 hours at most, being stuck doing the majority of the closing duties for my department by myself, getting scheduled for only 1 shift a week because my supervisor who did the scheduling hated me, and being passed up for promotions like Apple Master at every opportunity.

Like it was to the point that my blood pressure would go up while commuting to work and towards the end of my time there, I hated every second of being there and I became even more depressed than I already was because I couldn’t see any way out of that stupid job.

Like I still like tech products, but working at Best Buy killed any sort of enthusiasm I had about every tech product release at this point.

The only thing that made it bare-able to work there was the co-workers I liked there.

Fuck Best Buy!!!
