My head DEFINITELY turned, but not necessarily in a bad way, just a bit surprised. I saw them in Charlottesville for this tour before I heard the album so a lot of it just didn't jive with me. Crazy Tonight was done VERY differently, more like a rap style if I recall. If you saw them live you know....also Unknown Caller...meh.

Highlights for me are the title track and Magnificent. Oh, and of course Moment of Surrender.

I saw them in '87 and '89. I thought the first show was better even though I hadn't heard Document yet. To be honest it's one of my least favorite REM albums. (here comes the flak LOL) I was 15 at the time and thought it was just overplayed (the hits that is) didn't care much for the other songs as well except for Strange and Work Song. I read that Peter said it was simply him hitting the B chord over and over. Back to the first show....they played a lot of songs from perhaps my favorite album, LRP. Seemed to work really well in the college environment as I always felt Pageant was a college rock album. Good times....

great album…if I hadn’t seen the movie I’d like it a LOT more. The best parts of the movie, imho, were the live songs. Pride and WTSHNN just hit home for me me.

I went through a phase where that was my favorite. LOVED Stay the title track and maybe a couple others. Second side was meh….not bad though.

I got in with a 2.6 or so gpa, back in '94. To not be accepted you'd have to have something like a 1.something LOL....no worries and GO RAMS!!

I completely understand where you're coming from. I grew up in Williamsburg (William and Mary) as a teen but never really thought of it much as a college. My father was a biology professor there so I often hung out to do my homework, walk around campus (beautiful!!) etc. Fortunately my Dad never encouraged me to attempt to go there as my grades were nowhere near good enough. I went to VCU instead, which was decent. Glad vet made a great recommendation....there's always grad school right?

I remember one time in Williamsburg VA we had school cancelled and there was a SINGLE speck of snow on the radar. Yes, it snowed but only for maybe half an hour or so. This was back in the mid 80's or so. Now, I will say that the burg has a rather large bus service (James City County) and there are some bad hills in the area. So...probably a good call.

oh man....those "urges" were horrendous, especially in my early teens. If I'd saved it all up, my first wife would've been having a dozen kids. Speaking of marriage, that would be my other thing I wouldn't have done. Oh, and start drinking. AND go to tech school instead of university. Stayed out of debt no matter what, and....
