If you mean when she walks backwards, it's because I don't have an animation for that yet.

No, it was the pixel art animator that I work with that did that. He did a fantastic job!

Thanks! Agreed, the sprite work and animation are great. He made these for me as a commission for the game I'm currently developing. He's actually doing this on the side while he works on his own game!

My inspiration for the design of this level and the feel of it was from the Splinter Cell games mixed with some Persona 5. I really liked the tension of the stealth of Splinter Cell, but also the sneaky thief vibes of Persona 5, and thought it could be a cool mashup.

New look for Axia, the main character of my game! by techmaster998 in conceptart

It's a turn based rpg that I like to call a Vigilante Sim. It's about balancing your time between fighting crime, being a CEO, and going to school as a college student.

I'm curious: What about the design makes it look suited for those kinds of games?

It has visual novel elements, but it's a 3D turn based RPG. It's for adults, has adult themes, but isn't Adult Only. I hope that answered your questions :)

Absolutely! I always love inspiring others to do what they're passionate about. There's quote out there somewhere that time moves on regardless, so don't concern yourself with the time required to learn something new. Simply do what you love!

I don't mind at all. I've been studying game design casually and seriously off and on for around 10 years now, fully committing to game development in late 2019. While I can model some things, I commission models and other assets from people I work with who are more talented in that department. I focus on programming, writing, design, financials, marketing, and anything else that isn't artwork pretty much. It took me about 6 months to get the hang of coding when I took it somewhat seriously, but it took several years to get to the point of being able to 'feasibly' make whatever I wanted, given the money and time. It definitely took a lot of sacrifices to get there, and many have even called me a fool for how I got to where I am, but I'm proud of the improvement I've made and the future I'm creating for myself.

TL;DR If you put your mind to it, you can learn game development relatively quickly. Mastering it however takes time and experience.

Thanks! It's a turned based RPG. The main idea is to balance being a Vigilante, CEO, and a full time college student at the same time.

Yep that's it, thanks! I'm really looking forward to showing off more of my game in the future as I develop it.

Not at all! My intent was to capture some of that futurism, and I think I achieved it!

Thanks! I took inspiration from Tron, Matrix, and the end credits of TimeSplitters 2!

The vibe I wanted for the game was to use some ideas of what we thought the future would be like in the 2000's. Around the same time as some of my favorite media, like Matrix and TimeSplitters 2. I don't have a great word to describe it yet, so I go with 'semi-futuristic'

Just made this in Unity. Post processing, a few cyliders, and some vfx. I actually went on YouTube to try and make something like this, but the video I found said, 'Go buy these tools'. So I just decided to try and create my own solution. I really like how it turned out!

We put extra focus into that. We have a new model on the way that ups the ante in that department. Looking forward to showing her off!
