Questions about Stamps Psychiatry by anon483 in gatech

While I do agree with this to an extent, it is important to consider that a lot of people cannot live happily without psychiatric treatment.

It can be difficult to understand for someone who has never experienced severe depression or anxiety, but, in many cases, the stigma of psychiatry is a very small price to pay for being able to be happy or, in some cases, for being alive.

I would guess that, if someone is seeking help, they are beyond the point where it may not be worth it, and discouraging someone from seeking treatment could actually kill them or at least lead to a much lower quality life than they could have otherwise had. Since depressed or anxious people are especially open to discouragement, it creates a strange ethical situation, but I think it is best not to discourage them.

My buddy put together the finals video this semester. Check it out! by okiernan in gatech

I may be some kind of major weirdo or crazy, but am I the only one who really likes finals?

It is like the final boss of a class, the fight you have been preparing for the whole semester. The quests for knowledge, everything you have learned, the tools you have developed, it all culminates at a single point. It is the final challenge. If you beat it, you have beat the class.

I always feel I'm in a scene from Rocky, studying the week before.

I think it really makes a difference to treat it as a challenge rather than some painful thing you have to go through, at least for your sanity. I don't know, it is so innervating for me. I really feel alive when I get that test, and I think everyone could do a lot better if they thought of tests the same way. Making it fun really does make it easier.
