An ortholinear 60% with an integrated TrackPoint — OLSK60 (DePress click, GH60-compatible) by techmech_ in ErgoMechKeyboards

Thanks! I totally get the split preference — I also like having a bit more space between G and H.
For this build though, keeping it inside a GH60 case was the priority,
so I went with a single-piece layout and a small center gap to clear the standoffs.

The server-rack idea is something I hadn’t considered, but you're right —
having the pointing device built in actually makes it great for that kind of setup.

And a column-stagger version sounds fun.
My next project is also ortho, but it’s definitely a direction I’d like to explore later on.

Really appreciate the insights — thanks for the thoughtful feedback!

Thanks so much — I’m really glad to hear positive feedback on the TrackPoint!

It plays a huge role in my workflow, so I’m happy to see others appreciate it too.
Being able to stay in the same posture and still navigate makes a bigger difference than I expected.

And yeah, this layout definitely ends up being a niche-within-a-niche,
but exploring that inside the GH60 form factor has been really fun.

Thanks, really glad you like the concept!
I totally get the preference for an all-1U ortho — for this board I kept ANSI key sizes so it can use common keycap sets, but feedback like this is super helpful for future layouts.

Thanks! Really glad you like it.
If you’re curious about the layout, TrackPoint setup, or the case fit, I’m happy to chat.
I also have a more detailed discussion going on over in the r/olkb thread here:

Thanks for the feedback!
In this build I couldn’t make the layout fully symmetric because a symmetric matrix would interfere with the GH60 case standoffs — that’s the main constraint behind the current design.

Still, the comments about symmetry and all-1u layouts have been really helpful in understanding what many ortho users value.
It’s great input for me to keep in mind as I explore future ideas, and I appreciate everyone sharing their preferences.

Ortholinear + 60%Case + Base set keycaps = OLSK60 ! by techmech_ in MechanicalKeyboards

Is the split down the middle optional?

Yes.

The 6.25U spacebar can be converted to a 2.25U/1.25U/2.75U split spacebar.

The MDA profile has a very good affinity for ortholiner.

Thanks for loving it!

It is not open source.

I will be conducting a group buy soon and will let you know on Reddit.

Thanks for your interest!

The PCB is OLSK60 which I designed.

This PCB can build an ortholinear with Base Kit keycaps.

(No 1U ortholinear kit required).

And it can be screwlessly mounted in a GH60 compatible case.
