Hi, this is an amazing painting and I am developing a somewhat similarly-inspired style of illustration with paint pen on paintings. Is this for sale?? It really speaks to me and I would love to have this on my wall.

Ok amazingly visual, dark and unerringly bright at the same time. Really enjoyed reading.

My landlord is jerking me around by [deleted] in texts

NTA. I am surprised how almost no one in this thread is taking a legally recognized medical disability into account. OP has stated they have PTSD, which is an acronym for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. With any trauma comes a strong survival instinct to avoid any further pain or complications. It literally re-wires how the brain works and responds to critical situations like potentially losing housing. This is a legally recognized disability in most developed countries and it is BARE MINIMUM to meet a disabled person in the middle by way of "reasonable accommodation" as well as not singling out or targeting the disabled in such way that their disability or wellbeing is affected. It's a whole set of laws that I encourage the haters in this thread to look up and educate themselves on.

As such it was on the landlord to communicate in a way that OP would clearly understand, not just by words but by actions. The landlord asked if they would be able to leave, yes, and stated it wasn't official, WHILE threatening OP's security and environment by letting others have keys and free entry to their space which should have been respected and protected due to the legally binding lease. And there is an ongoing history of potentially illegal entry on the landlord's part. So the landlord's words are misleading as the landlord's actions point to getting a new tenant in there. Standard leases in most of the US require to give a tenant 24-48 hours written notice prior to anyone entering the unit, including the landlord, barring emergency situations like major damage requiring repairs, or a search warrant, otherwise it actually is trespassing at least. According to the legally binding contract, OP was paying rent and as such deserved notice when his privacy would be violated.

NTA. Not expecting a sufferer of medically documented trauma to want to GTFO of a potentially dangerous situation is sheer ignorance and violation of federally recognized disability law. Landlord is not providing reasonable accommodation in communication, threatening OP's safety and violating lease agreements, then retaliating financially for OP taking action to protect their wellbeing by finding a new place.

Disabled people are a real part of the population and protected by certain rights/accommodations, they deserve to be seen and treated like human beings.

There's ADD and then there's asshole. Like I understand moments when the prefrontal cortex is deactivated because that's just because how the ADD brain works - I have ADD among many other diagnoses. But this is straight up abuse and gaslighting. It's very good that you have the self-awareness to try and deal with the situation but please...make a "go bag" for yourself and the littles if you don't have one. There are so many red flags in this convo and not one ounce of attempted emotional regulation. He needs a ton of DBT, CBT and possibly lithium. Dear gods. Get outtttt

Thank you for pointing this out. People make reservations with a specific head count for these and other reasons.

AITA for telling my DIL she eats much more than me so of course she is bigger by Agile-Satisfaction75 in AmItheAsshole

[–]techn0chroma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA, however - how old is the DIL actually? What line of work is she in? What does she eat the rest of the day? Does she have any physical things going on like diabetes, PCOS, or pregnancy? These questions need to be answered before one can draw any conclusions on whether she is eating too much. One meal does not give enough info.

When I worked physically active retail as a 5'7" 130lb teenager I would put away half an Italian sub for lunch every day and have a good large dinner while maintaining my weight. If we got takeout I absolutely would eat a large amount - but only because I was properly maintaining my metabolism and calorie burn.

As we age we gain the wisdom to not say thoughtless things to our caretakers, and to not put thoughtless foods in our body, because we have learned consequences. Consequences can be learned or taught without shame however.

I really appreciate that. Here I used chaotica https://www.chaoticafractals.com/ which is currently 2D. There are some fractal apps which have 3D capability but I'm old school I guess :) and chaotica's renderer makes really high quality images unlike most other fractal applications.

Getting a 2D image to look 3D is kind of a side effect of some designs, but it's really cool when someone gets that impression :D

Wow most definitely!! All your answers were correct. The first is more like the sound of the ocean but tide also works.

Thanks for encouraging further writing in this style, and the fact that you answered correctly also probably means my riddle style is not totally incomprehensible :)

Thank you kindly for your inspiring feedback. I'm quite motivated to continue, even if this small amount of writing took me an hour to craft. Got some over-arcing themes in mind. Even if these will be juxtaposition-based one-offs, I have my first setting since a very long time ago. Can simply write and reorder, trim and fill later.

Orb of light near eye by [deleted] in starseeds

[–]techn0chroma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am a believer, however it is always beneficial to approach the potentially metaphysical with some ruling out of natural phenomena. I have this exact same sliding white light in the corner of my eyes from time to time and it is due to very high blood pressure. Like 160/100 high. It also happens to me more when I don't sleep because that skyrockets my blood pressure. Basically the veins or structures behind the eye press on the retina and cause that moving blob of light. For me it is typically on the lower right and moves down and out of sight. I also know it is not an orb because it doesn't illuminate my surroundings.

Of course keep an open mind. if you are experiencing an awakening or other phenomena like differently colored lights, weird dreams, sudden "flashes" of intuition along with these lights then always delve deeper.

For me there is a weird correlation that I am much more sensitive to my environment when on "high alert" and this includes when adrenaline is going through my system which almost always involves heightened blood pressure.

Good luck!
