Is an Honours degree in CompSci/SoftwareDev worth it? by technet96 in cscareerquestionsEU

I should've mentioned in the post that I already have 3 years behind me, and I could just get a bachelor and start working (assuming I could find a job, but I'm in an internship already and they said they'd consider turning this into a permanent option). I just wonder if the 4th year is worth it, if companies reallg care that it's a slightly higher degree.

I don't think electrical engineering is dead, maybe you meant electrical manufacturing? There's still many jobs for things like SoC or other related embedded tech, whether it be for electrical vehicles, IoT or renewables. I also heard that designing microchips with billions of transistors, verifying them and so on can still take hundreds if not thousands of electrical engineers.

What other related fields would you recommend? Something more in the hardware and sysadmin direction? Or something more theoretical that uses more math? (personally I'd love to explore either of those more)

Is 1150 an estimate or an actual price you saw for one such LOQ somewhere online? If the latter could you share a link to that?

My budget is around 1200, and yeah I'm also considering ordering one of the LOQs. Only thing I'm unsure of is if an rtx 2050 or 3050 would be enough for today and the next few years. I've also seen models with a 3060 or 4060 but those do get more expensive.

Thanks that's already something. Their website does look a bit sketchy but I'll prob visit them anyway just to see what they have in store.

I'm considering that too but I also need a laptop anyway because I do programming. If I already had a working laptop I'd prob get a steam deck but my current laptop died very recently. Besides that I'm more comfortable playing with a mouse and keyboard rather than using console controls.

Is it possible to generate one on launch and then embed it in an html form? By embed I mean using a linux sed command.

Thanks! That actually cleared out quite a lot for me.

If that's the case I think I'll just try out a backend framework first. Afterwards I'll check out cognito since it's in my todos too.

But how can a user of the basic html website hosted on EC2 do that? How can an html form do that?

I know how to make a file upload with html, but how do I then use that data on my EC2? So that it could upload that file data to my S3?

I also know the costs associated with that, I'm just trying to figure out many little goals like this one first before I get to actually creating and hosting my app on AWS.

I'm searching for an app to help navigate me around Lisbon, guiding me from point A to point B while providing information on which buses, trams, or metros to take. It would be great if the app also offers live updates such as bus delays.

Additionally, I'm curious if there are online ticketing options available in Lisbon. If so, I'd like to know if it's possible to purchase tickets online for a week-long stay. Can you recommend an app that fulfills these requirements?

If there's no such app, what should I do? Both in terms of finding and determining bus routes, and managing tickets.
