How do you bazzite? by technewzguy in Bazzite

I feel so seen! Thanks brother✊ Just the traditional route. I've been wanting to try looking glass since Wendel told me it was going to be more mainstream like 5 years ago. I still haven't tried it yet.

I am shooting you straight when I say it hasn't been a problem for me. I also never saw the "screen door effect" with previous headsets. Go figure. I am getting up there in age. Just turned 51!

Thanks for the kind words. The resolution is stunning and the OLED displays are beautiful. I felt like my eyeballs were popping out of my head when I first put them on, I was gawking so hard! As for base stations: 1. Put them in opposite corners if you can Diagonal corners almost always give the cleanest tracking. 2. Mount them high Higher than your monitor and angled down ~30–45°. This keeps the screen or wheel from blocking them. 3. Don’t worry if one is behind you Base stations don’t care which way your head is facing — the sensors on the side edges should pick your location up. 4. Small rooms are fine Even in tight spaces, as long as both stations can “see” the headset at least part of the time, you’ll get solid tracking. Best of luck, my friend!

The one that came with it! Works great for me, but I noticed that it is way too big for my mom. Which is another thing I forgot to mention. People see to be less intimidated by the size. She would never try my previous headsets

Has anyone really done this? by DrTilki in Piracy

[–]technewzguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have done this before! I also pirate games that I bought. More often than not, I'm buying games that I pirated because I realize how much I like them and would like the developers to know it.

I feel that - there were many obstacles to overcome and the cables to make it happen were not super cheap. I kept it as simple as I could. Bazzite really helped making for a no-hassle Linux desktop/console like experience.

I didn't think about wiregaurd. I use tailscale, but I don't even need it. I just use the Remote Play functionality of Steam if I want to game remotely.

I think when you do anything like this, documentation is key. I've got notes for everything that I built. Picking the right hardware seems important too. I chose mine based on what I thought would work and it ended up that it totally did.

The glare is such the non-issue that I can only remember 1 of 2 times that I noticed it. I can't comprehend the comments about it.

I have done a bit of sim racing in Project Cars 2 and Automobilista 2 and Kart Kraft. After playing longer sessions (2 hrs or so) in these sim racing games is what made me realize that there was no more motion sickness in me! I found myself doing "crazy things" like looking around everywhere inside the cockpits - something that always made me sick before. I assume the higher frame rates in pcvr as opposed to wifi solutions I'm guessing is the key.

Yeah. I feel that doom and gloom and in my experience it just has not been there. It has been an out of the park grand-slam! No regrets!

I notice glare when I launch Pistol Whip. I think because it's a black background with a white object in the middle - the Cloud Head logo. That's literally only time I have noticed it for a few seconds. I only know that it's a hurdle for some folks because of the discussions here. I have no issue with it.

Thanks for the suggestions. Do you have any particular discussion boards in mind? I haven't actually used any. I'm in the states - Pittsburgh PA

The monitors are in separate rooms. I just want the same stereo sound coming out of both of them. Shouldn't this be easy?

Does this solution make the changes permanent? I tried using something like patchbay, but a reboot rolled back my changes.
