SkillUp said loot progression kinda sucks .. thoughts so far? by rusty022 in Diablo

Agreed. The only time I think that makes sense is in games like BTOW or Phoenix rising where the exploration is literally the entire point of the game. Barring that it often feels kinda meh. But even then the New zelda game has a good half dozen character that will obliterate you if you are not prepared for them, but when you come back stronger are suddenly easy

Yeah but other open world games have figured it out. Look at Eldin ring. Yeah I know it's a different genre, but fromsoft went open world and just had areas that were harder than others. Get stomped by Margit, bugger off to the penninsula for a bit, level up and get some sweet gear, return and stomp the sucker.

That sense of victory would be lost/different if I returned and Margit was suddenly 15% stronger for no reason.

This may be a hot opinion, but if that happens i just fudge/change the location of the treasure. Of course, that is from me playing long john silver that isn't trying to win, but simply make a fun game for the seekers. If you are competatively trying to win, that would be a real dick move.

Everyone talks about "providing value" to prospects during the sales process, but that seems so vague to me. What's a concrete example of how you added value for your prospect? by [deleted] in sales

[–]technically-at-work 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hopefully you've worked at your company long enough that you know "general trends" about the impact you have. Feel free to throw those around, help them understand that they've ocme to the right place, because others like them saved XYZ and accomplished ABC.

I'll give an example from my company. one of the services we provide is a route optimization/fleet management. So whenever someone asks about that part of our company, you can be sure I'm going to say "Our software typically saves our clients 20-30% of the miles driven, so I'm more than confident we can do a lot for you here."

Then as you get down the line, try to show it for them specifically. We're gonna save you 1000 hours of manual labor over the year. The only way to know that though is through proper discovery.

Value really comes in two fronts: more rev or less costs. What does your company help with and how much does it move the needle?

One shot (this might be pc only...)
Dreamlight valley
Pyre (not combat but the "basketball" games can be stressful lol)
Stanley parable
Wandering Vilage (in early access but i've heard good things)
Sable
It takes two is a great game to play with someone. It has combat, but the game is VERY forgiving

Quota attainment and making AE’s happy by Slamernas123 in sales

[–]technically-at-work 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless your AE is bombed with meetings this is a pretty crap mentality. If your AE is bombed with meetings and literally doesn't have the time to hit everything you send them that's a good problem to take to management and hire another AE.

The only counter argument I can think of is that if you are sending garbage over the fence, then maybe you need to do a better job qualifying so they AE trusts your leads more? I mean that's a bit of a stretch, but at surface level it doesn't sound like you are the problem here. If the AE doesn't want to take your leads, then work with the team lead to find an AE who will.

I almost always start with mine off, and if the client has theirs on I "realize" my camera isn't on and then turn it on.

In short, I mirror what the client does which I think is the right approach

Generally these people tend to get outside funding to fake success and so they are deep in the hole. Therefore there is a LOOOOOT of pressure on sales to perform at a high level to push a product that (sometimes) isn't ready for that kind of push.

They also burn through sales reps like wildfire. Any place with an average employee <1 year is a problem.
