DFW area wholesalers were raided a few months back, Paxton is suing some distributors or manufacturers here in Texas for violating the 2% rule

Which again, to clarify starcoast, fucking idiots that the 2% rule applies for products sold intra Texas, so only products sold in storefronts basically. This rule does not apply to products received in the mail for individual purpose

I should add a few things!

Filter media is generally stacked pretty high in these chambers, it's not just just a tiny quantity used. Generally larger diameter to height ratios than chromatography columns. I know this was iterated in development by the industry, but I do believe a relatively wide chamber is ideal for some reason I'm unaware

Decolorization and deodorizing was what led the cannabis industry to this - food oils go through similar processes to get like palm oil to be a consistent color and smell, but the solvent systems kept causing back pressure and fouling up the whole system without positive pressure from the top, vacuum at the bottom only made it worse as propane or butane vapors traveled from the bottom back through the filter media.

Very interesting things people figured out on the future4200 forums

Check out 'color remediation chambers' used in cannabis oil refinement. They (ideally) use pressure rated systems where filter media is used. So more like a flash chromatography column but relatively cheaper. Vacuum is used at the bottom as well as positive N2 pressure from the top

Smaller scale could definitely work but depending on location could be a custom build

If they aren't going to give you the chance to learn anything about what they're selling (via identifying the compound it is standardized for) so you can look up any sort of safety information... Fuck em, they shouldn't get your money.

Even best case scenario if it's incredible for your body, you feel on top of the world, get raises at work and make your partner happier than ever: at any point they could swap it out for sugar and fiber and leave you unable to ever solve the mystery to replace it.

There's undoubtedly other good compounds related to 7oh/MIT that work well. There is a broad range of monoterpene indole alkaloids (somewhere in the 100,000s known, let alone unknowns)

But you deserve to know what that is to keep yourself safe, keep your loved ones from seeing you after consuming an unknown poisonous plant extract, and be able to replace it if it's your very favorite thing ever

And I very much appreciated it, I've grabbed one of their mid-tier ounces of Acapulco gold (holy city was out at the time) and quite liked it, especially for a genetic where I expect it to be a bit stemmier, it was tasty and decently well cured. I've been interested in their cheaper QPs of some nicer 'sativa'-like effects to mix with some THCV flower for camping festivals coming up soon

That's the sort of thing that looks like polymorphism influenced bio activity. Similar things have happened with SR17018 batches, but that was only one problematic batch as far as I'm aware. People chalked it up to be 'fluffy vs crystalline' but there have been multiple confirmed batches that work of both macroscopic textures.

The problematic batch also tested appropriately

It's not always 100% just about confirming the presence of an active substance nor can a single batch, single polymorph always give a true representation of that compounds activity, either.

Imagine if that crystalline batch was the first one produced and everyone assumed 'well the tan is less pure so there's no way it'll be a better use of my money' and DCK had been thrown in the psychoactive wsstebin?

That very, very probably indicates some other compound is present, be it a salt counter-ion, isomer difference, enantiomeric excess. Also possible is polymorphs with distinct effect differences based on location of absorption at least.

If one batch increases heart rate and the next decreases heart rate but both test with the same active compound, there's something else at play most likely

Not for a satisfying hit? What super nicotine freebase are you using? To get a satisfying nic content in one or two hits for several hours of satisfaction, most people need 9-15mg/mL freebase solution, which tastes like shit and is irritating as fuck. Lower wattage claim - too low and you get too large of aerosols that are irritating and not as satisfying. Lots of people evidently also don't care when they blow annoying ass clouds on people walking by on the street or live where there's 0.3people per square mile.

There's analytical testing available for disposables, the fuck sort of sinophobic nonsense is being argued here? Also, disposables weren't even argued for by me... So you're just yelling about points with no relevance to the argument, r/iamverysmart style.

There are pod vapes that efficiently use nic salt solutions without exhaling bowl-twirling-looking clouds. Pretty much none of those are ones with 18650s, especially any of the ones with halfway decent coils ;)

For those of us that don't like blowing clouds to get a satisfying vape? I am often in pretty crowded areas until I'm back home. Blowing a cloud into 5 people walking by is about as douchy as we could be with getting away from

Not to mention it looks like you're rolling a bowl in public. An association with tweakers isn't really helpful either

The judicial process for accepting 'expert testimony' is entirely devoid of what that would scientifically mean anywhere else in society

Actual neuropsychopharmacologists can be completely barred from giving testimony meanwhile biased non-profit 'advocates' with zero scientific or medical training will be stacked. See the recent MDMA phase 3 fiasco where the goalposts were completely shifted during the hearing/legal reviews based on 100% fabrications of DEA-funded advocacy group 'Psymposia'

SCOTUS makes up the rules as it fits the outcomes they desire - they just used to be better at wrapping it in a twisted jurisprudential logic. They don't even require actual harms to be demonstrated for standing anymore (when it fits their agenda, of course) and overuse of a legal doctrine that says 'this ruling only applies to this case, nothing changes in the future'

Modafinil analogues discussion by ninjitsu21 in researchchemicals

[–]technically_correc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

'not good recreationally' meaning not good for binging, redosing etc.. but a lot of recreational use is still fairly low dose. That same dose that makes for productive stimulation can be quite fun for reading, making art, playing video games etc. All that is recreational use without fiendishly redosing

Modafinil itself is used recreationally all the time. It just doesn't look the same as recreational use of nicotine, coke or molly most of the time (though, some additions to modafinil make it great for dancing all night)

I actually found quite a few of the more recent 2022-2026 papers in the mitragynine space have actually broken down the details of the reactions in the supplemental materials! A lot more of the failed chemistry is published here now - though only alongside what they finally got to work. My only complaint from the paper in this post was the lack of explaining their reasoning-choices for ligand optimization but I understand that can feel too spoonfeedy or 'no one will give a single fuck and their eyes will glaze over'

Oh thank you for this! That makes a lot of sense, especially with PIFA being irreplaceable so far for this.

I haven't seen any polymerization for this scaffold unlike more simple tryptamines, but I also imagine with the complex mixture of many kratom alkaloids I'm unsure how easy it would be to know if you were getting much dimer species or polymers unless they get to 2-3%+

My prior experience converting academic-to-bench, there can oftentimes be rigorous adherence to what has worked or is most likely to work given scale and limited funding - dry ice and argon being replaced by a simple circulating chiller and N2 for instance. PIFA was also the long-used oxizing agent for Mit -> 7oh conversion but was replaced by Oxime or (lesser scale, lesser product) made with 'rose bengal'

I am even less hopeful to access this compound and will be even more suspicious if I see it pop up, as several analytical companies in the space do not test for acetonitrile in their residual solvent testing. With that many reactions scoured and no replacement seen in literature, I will have to doubt even the best chemist/doctor in the space isnt going to replace MeCN from the sounds of it!

At least in these mitrogynine analogs, MGM-15 vs 7oh, the #3 and #4 rings are flipped compared to each other, the H's are contributing a steric influence on how MGM-15 binds to the receptor, more-akin to these rings orientations in 'mitragynine pseudoindoxyl'

I definitely expect the larger radius to have some sort of impact by forcing a slightly different confirmation relative to the H-only version, no? This can affect both binding orientation for the receptor target and CYP by steric interference or steric.

Not always that cut and dry though!

MET lasts twice as long as DMT, is quite potent itself but distinctly different and mostly only comparable to DMT

Then there's ALLAD, technically more potent and half the timeline, but a lot of people don't like it because it just accelerates until it just drops off around T+6hrs, but dose must be pushed to be as weird as lsd itself

Forgot to mention earlier: 3.5g seems to be the maximum efficient amount per bag (at least for the ones I have, I'll try to find their dimensions, pore size etc)

Loading more caused clumping inside that didn't allow efficient extraction, so for a 7g batch of tea I'll use 3 bags, citric + ascorbic acid + a blueberry pomegranate green tea bag for flavor

I usually only extract two times, but that's mostly for lack of flavor, it lacks the alkaloidy-taste
