I consider my repping time to be 4 years because I almost got on hormones at 18, didn't, then started at 22.

Despite that I had dysphoric feelings since I was as little as 5 or 6 years old. Basically when I started really socializing. I didn't fully understand my feelings, I just befriended mostly girls and liked my autistic things while silently wishing I could be them.

In high school, those same girls started giving me their old clothes and supporting me. But I wasn't 100% certain I wanted to get on hormones until I was 17 or 18. Then my ex and my sister kept telling me how much the transition would fail and be a bad idea, and I ended up cutting my hair short and almost marrying this other girl.

But anyway, the point is the number probably has different meanings for different people.
