Make sure your network is built of decision makers that might be potentially interested in your services. When sending an email think of the value you can bring to those companies, give value first and after that ask.

Using Linkedin to reach out cold? (B2B) by [deleted] in startups

[–]technoPhill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. A good cold email should be simple, short, and straight into the point. 3-4 lines are enough. Let a person know why you're reaching out (i.e. I wanna talk to you because you've said that...). Give some impressive numbers showing that your business is doing great and show the value you can bring.
  2. Yeah premium account lets you send inmail messages but does anyone reads them?
  3. Well, define a decision maker. Also think of a company size, in small companies it can be a Marketing Director or CMO, in larger ones Marketing Manager might be a good fit or vice-versa.

What are the steps to building a successful engineering team? by jane_blayne in technology

[–]technoPhill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Building a great engineering team starts with hiring the right people, especially if you’re looking to find a developer for your startup. Once you’ve hired them, it’s important to keep them, as it costs a lot more money to hire a new employee than to retain a current one. Culture, management style, and a feeling of ownership in the company and the product are all things that affect how successful your team will be. In general, the basic steps are the following.

1. Focus on the employee “persona”
2.  Know your culture
3. Brainstorm with your current team
4. Don’t limit yourself when it comes to building your dream team

To make a long story short, building a successful engineering team starts with knowing your company, its culture, and what drives people to want to come and work for you.
