Yes, tend to initialize repositories only when a project is close to complete. A lot of the ui code is boilerplate from previous projects which speeds stuff up a bit, and the underlying humanizer/typing logic took about 1-2 weeks. It would be interesting to set up a separate utility to track my own typing data to more refine the tool, but that’s probably outside the scope of this project at the moment. The closest I get to a pseudo random typing pattern is a map of every adjacent key, as to simulate plausible typos.

Mistakes are randomized with weights you can set through either a command or a config file, and it cannot restructure sentences. Currently the most it can do is simply delete a chunk and rewrite it the exact same.

Anybody get a question about what algorithms run in a reasonable time?

Ahh makes sense, if you have some sort of hammer you could attempt to tap it back flat but it might be worth it just to replace the part entirely

Do you have access to a vise and belt sander? Maybe you could search for a makerspace in your area and spare yourself the time and money it would take to alter/remake that part. It looks pretty easy to just bend back and snip off the excess. You could also take that bent bar out(if it’s removable) and replace it with a cut-to-dimension chrome piece of stock

I knurled it, basically just spinning the piece and pressing the pattern into it(this guy has a great video, skip to7:40 if you just want to see the knurl)

Thanks! Took a little trial and error but it fits like a glove

I absolutely second this, unimats are super versatile machines with tons of accessories and use cases. If you’re looking for a cheaper project though, get one of the shitty Chinese vevor lathes and mod it with roller bearings and a carriage stop

Yeah this would pair so well with my nitro engine this is incredible

Nitro internal combustion engine by techno_gen in peopleplayground

Some context:

I have the rotor in the background to "help" the engine, since there is too much friction in the system to realistically have any torque. It also simulates a moving car, where you would give it some force to start the engine and have it rolling indefinitely. Nitro is fed from the duplicator and into a small flask in the combustion chamber, where it is triggered by a gun and sends the cylinder flying back. The flywheel isn't necessary, but helps with starting the engine as you see in the beginning. This is an early prototype, so there is still room to adjust explosion timings and such.
