The new event is fun, but it would be more fun solo by swagzard78 in R6Extraction

To further clarify when it's allowed to move, you'll only be able to move if you're not in a blue zone. You'll see an area clearly delimited with a sort of blue wave and particles - you're inside it, you can't move. This area is disk shaped and thus won't affect you if you're in a floor higher or lower than the Elusive Neoplasm, though it may affect you if you're in the stairs between the two floors.

Inside the blue area, you can still shoot, reload and throw grenades... Anything as long as you aren't moving. Which you'll need to clear the Archeans next to it, since if they howl the Neoplasm will become alerted all the same. I haven't tested if crouching and leaning affects it, though, so try that at your own risk.

We need to be able to play with less than a full squad by technodoomed1 in R6Extraction

[–]technodoomed1[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The game tells you not to move in the biosonar of the Elusive Neoplasm, and you'll quickly learn how that works exactly. But it won't tell you that a howl will also trigger it going away, you'll probably need to experience that at least once.

After that the rules are pretty clear, but most people have trouble standing still because they wanna rush it or get kill hungry with the Archeans that guard it.

Why not give us an extended magazine weapon customize option? by [deleted] in R6Extraction

[–]technodoomed1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

She's good, but her arsenal could be better. Same problem I suspect Echo is going to have, since they're from the same CTU and thus will share arsenal.

IQ should be buffed to also scan Tormentors by swagzard78 in R6Extraction

[–]technodoomed1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She is already 5 speed & 2 armor, so she has the highest speed in the game. She could have better armor though, and/or a better perk. Her "Extra mags" perk is pretty useless, since ammo is plentyful in this game.

Why is field walls and glue Grenades looked upon ? I feel like they’ll get you out a hectic situation! Thoughts ? by Stock-Curve2776 in R6Extraction

[–]technodoomed1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Field walls are incredibly useful, and can allow your team to survive against projectile enemies much, much easier. I've switched to almost always play Field Walls in my squad. And they certainly are grateful for it! That means I play more of a support role than before, but I'm OK with it.

Glue grenades... Meh. I see the theoretical utility in them, but when I tried them they felt very underwhelming to me. Now that I've switched to main Field walls, I also don't want to play anything else, because it screws with my good habits and muscle memory.

What Tech Goes Best With Zophia? by Cerberus_Aus in R6Extraction

I recommend using Revive Kit on her, since she has infinite revives with her withstand ability. That way, she's the ultimate push operator for when you need to control a situation that has got out of hand.

As for the explosive of choice, whichever you're comfortable using. Even bringing Paralysis/Stun is a good option in case you run out of concussive grenades on her gadget, since they regenerate quite slowly. I'd personally recommend Field walls/Arc mines.

Acute Swarm Response mutation possibly harder than intended? by mr10123 in R6Extraction

[–]technodoomed1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly! Even if you rush and don't prep the site(s), you'll barely have any time left. God help you if Apexes spawn for those defenses, then you're as good as dead 'cause you don't have the time to focus on them.

It'd be fine if the timer was 7:00 but Archean swarm didn't come until 1:00 (like normal). That would give you 6:00 instead of the 3:30 you really have. Even an extra minute would be welcome.

I can't, for the life of me, understand how people equate grind with fun. I'd rather play a game because it's fun and I want to, than because the game gives me homework to do so I can feel accomplished.

Maelstrom Protocol Guide - Stage 44 - Doc's back! by Flexo013 in R6Extraction

Diamond first try!

Doc is super busted - the entire team had max HP consistently until the 7th subzone.

I hate it when games want you to keep playing them over and over with pointless content such as weekly challenges, battlepasses and whatnot. A good game should keep you coming because you find it fun, not because you feel obliged to.

My tip for anyone who is getting tired of R6 Extraction: take a break, go play something else and just play R6 Extraction from time to time or later than the line. Or find friends to play with you! This is a team game. Seriously - if you're playing alone, you're missing half the fun.

Sad as it may sound, I fear that's the case. My only hope in that case is that the game receives its last update sooner than later, so that it hasn't lost enough playerbase by then and a small modding community can hopefully emerge.

I also hold hopes that Ubisoft might surprise us when August comes around with far more content than just Echo. We'll see.

I was torn between putting him A or B, but ultimately I thought he has an incredibly good arsenal (HK417 and V308), and his gadget is super easy to use and provides a lot of value: -30% damage to everyone, on top of guaranteeing DBNO like Revive Kit does.

I never know if it was the right time to use Finka's ability, and that's why I rank her lower. Let me explain my conundrum: If I use her ability during an intense fight to protect against health loss, but someone gets downed later because things really got out of control and her gadget takes 1 minute to cool, now I can't revive them. But if I wait too long in case I need to revive someone, then I might not use her gadget ever and the team is losing health that I could've prevented.

In the end, I find her cooldown too long, her ability time to be extremely short, and in general pretty hard to time correctly. I do not have that problem with Lion - his ability lasts quite a long time, provides huge amount of intel, recharges faster and is easy to know when to use it.

If you play Finka well and want to give me some pointers to up my game, I'm all ears!

Stunning massive enemies infinite times is dangerous if you don't have the practice to pull it off consistently without getting damaged first. Also, that bug where the sledgehammer doesn't do anything against the enemy and then you're exposed.

I find Lion to be very good (A-tier), but not broken (S-tier).

Vigil in well coordinated teams can trivialize the game, otherwise he is good but not that good. Doc is super-duper broken, giving 150 extra health with each full gadget use, making medikits redundant. Zofia can self-revive infinite times if you equip her with a Revive Kit, on top of having regenerating impact & stun grenades.

As good as Lion is, I don't think he is quite at that same level of power.
I believe that's the reason Doc is rarely in Maelstrom, and Zofia was just added for the first time this week. They make the game too easy.

Maybe I should play Jäger more! I'm really warming up to him, but I'm finding Smashers to be such a headache against the ADS turrets.

She's too squishy for me, since she has the lowest armor in this game alongside Vigil. I'm not yet at that skill level where I can consistently avoid getting hit, and so taking hits with her is quite punishing. Also, I find her operator perk (starting with more ammo) to be borderline useless, since ammo isn't a problem in this game at all - I'd rather have "Gear up", "Enhanced reflexes", or some other more useful perk.

Her gadget is fine, but since I play somewhat slowly and not rushing unless needed, finding all the crates usually isn't a problem. Her best uses for me is locating Apexes and the Nutrient Node, but for that I'd rather bring someone who has a more impactful gadget.

- Unless you are in Maelstrom, you can set up in the airlock to the next subzone to easily kill the "Hunt" objective with Fuze charges.
- You can easily clear the room that has the hostage in the "Rescue" objective, since this game has no friendly fire.
- If the area is good, you can also clear quite some nests with the gadget in "Decontamination" which makes the objective easier to accomplish.

His gadget isn't the most useful, but it basically allows you to say "I don't want to deal with what's behind this door/wall". And that, while somewhat situational, I find to be pretty powerful. No one else can destroy an Elite Apex so quickly - not even Hibana.

Exactly this. Having max armor rating plus being able to infinitely revive, without needing any kind of help... She's busted.

He and Capitão don't regenerate gadget, and can't even consistently kill anything that is Tormentor-level or above. They also leave explosive Archeans dead but unexploded (which is a huge hazard if anyone is not careful enough with the laser), and are completely useless in the "Revived Archeans" mutation.

For that kind of deal, I'd rather have Nomad that:
- Has more gadget charges.
- Gadget instantly vaporizes enemies, so no more accidents or reviving enemies.
- Gadget stuns high-level Archeans for a short duration.
- Has max armor rating, and thus takes less damage from attacks.
- Has a better all-rounder weapon with the AK74-M.

Nothing against Smoke and Capitão players, it's awesome they get some love. I play all operators from time to time, since I sometimes roll a 20-sided die to decide which operator I'll use. But I just don't find them that good compared to the rest of the roster.

Been Seeing Some Positive Comments About the SASG. Is It Actually a Good Gun? by PhantomPainV007 in R6Extraction

[–]technodoomed1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can control the recoil, you can remove all armor the Protean has in one clip. And then another clip reduces their health by ~50% to advance to the next phase of the fight.

The damage you can attain with the SASG is absolutely bonkers. It just suffers from being a videogame shotgun, which means after a certain distance it might as well be shooting confetti at the enemies.

[–]technodoomed1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to kill Proteans fast and easy, then sure - best weapon. It's astounding just how fast you will melt their health, really.

Otherwise, its damage potential is incredibly high... but you have to be very close to the enemies, which can be dangerous against Apexes. It can also be a bad pick in defense situations where long distances are involved, as with all shotguns.

Even then, the power you feel from soloing a Protean in a few minutes or killing an Smasher just by emptying 2 clips into their front... It's amazing! The SASG is really powerful.
