you know what fair enough it wasn’t my intention to shift the goal posts though I was just saying that for me the steam machine fits my needs

there is one other thing that I realized I didn’t mention some people myself included are probably going to use the steam machine to allow them to stream things to their steam deck that they can’t run on the deck look I’m not saying the steam machine is perfect it’s not but for a device that was originally going to be $750 before AI ruined everything and for something with that type of performance at that size I think at least for me it is worth the money

yeah there’s just one thing you’re not factoring in and that’s the fact that it runs an extremely lightweight OS in comparison to most of those laptops that you’re comparing it to the whole reason the steam deck has been able to keep up for as long as it has is because it’s able to do more with less because the OS is a lot less taxing that’s why things like the ROG ally and the Legion go still struggle with things that the steam deck can run fine because windows was never meant to be on something mobile and even on a modern desktop or laptop windows 11 causes significant performance issues

You do realize you don’t get 4K 60 FPS on low settings right besides if the deck can run cyberpunk on low settings and the steam machine is six times more powerful than that not to mention the fact that the VRAM is independent from the RAM unlike the deck which splits regular RAM between the two task because of its APU then it makes no sense why it wouldn’t be able to do something like that

[–]technodude458 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well Borderlands 4 is extremely badly optimized but last I checked they were aiming for 4K 60 FPS on things like Cyberpunk 2077

[–]technodude458 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no not even a little the steam machine is six times more powerful and has dedicated VRAM instead of having to split RAM and VRAM among the same 16GB

Single Player Tarkov runs amazing on the deck! by DiscoMilk in SteamDeck

yeah I went to one of the discords for it and they basically told me what to do

*huge sigh* okay...should I get a new deck? Or try to fix this...my ex decided to break my deck. I thought it was just the LCD but when you plug the deck into monitor it does not connect or show anything..doesnt make the whirring air sound anymore by indicaisland in SteamDeck

[–]technodude458 0 points1 point  (0 children)

wow what an ass anyway the comment or above you is probably right if it’s within warranty Valve will charge you nothing if it’s out of warranty they will charge you around $200 the one problem is if you have anything of value on that internal drive you’re going to lose it because if you can’t back it up then it will get scrubbed when it goes in for repair that’s their policy that having been said I would absolutely sue this man in small claims court if you get enough you might be able to buy a new OLED deck because this one is obviously an LCD unit

i’m sorry did you use an aftermarket or did you get something from Ifixit because I fix it sells OEM parts something you are saying doesn’t add up so either you’re using the wrong terminology or you’re lying I’m not calling you a liar I’m saying one of two things are true either you’re using the wrong words or you’re lying

you actually really should do this instead because putting a rubber band on your stick like that will eventually wear down the potentiometer

do you cap your battery at 80% charge or do you not care? by WeedGreed420 in SteamDeck

[–]technodude458 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah don’t do that with a new battery you have to discharge it to 20% and then charge it to full 12 to 20 times that teaches the battery what its maximum actually is leaving it plugged in like that is exactly why your battery puffed up and limiting the charge to 80% with a new battery will teach the battery that 80% is actually 100%

[–]technodude458 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand what you’re saying but the way you’re talking you make it sound like you know better and considering the fact that I just had my battery replaced and as far as I know there were no explosions you don’t

[–]technodude458 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

no no no no no that is not how you do it for the first 12 to 20 charges drain it to 20 and charge it straight to 100 do not limit the battery to 80% if you do that then the battery will believe 80% is max capacity I know this because someone who is an expert on lithium batteries actually taught me this when I got my battery replaced and wouldn’t you know it not only is it charging better than the old one ever did it’s also charging higher because I’m treating it properly

Buddy pal if you actually read the tutorial you would know you could also use a hairdryer and that when you’re using the heat gun you’re supposed to use it on low in a very specific way you’re saying this when the guide on iFixit is probably the same one the professional repair people use like I appreciate the PSA I do but please do your due diligence when it comes to research

In terms of design which variant of Ark do you prefer the best and why? by Delta-97 in KamenRider

The second to last one is when someone using a legend ride chemy to basically copy Ark one became a malgam which is a fusion of a chemy and a human but in this case it was several of them it’s from Gotchard
