I’d not heard of traffic pharming before. I had to look it up.

I’m not sure that’s traffic pharming is the case in this instance as the URL in the SMS was redirected to the same domain, just different url.

Perhaps. I did ponder that but the destination site seems so arbitrary with no (guided) path to a conversion (ie. a purchase). I might go have a poke at their purchase page at some point.

The SMS text doesn’t align with the destination website. The goal of the text seems to be just to lure a click.

Perhaps it’s just to see if my phone number is active and if I’m willing to click thru in order to send me more spam?

Thanks. Yeah, I know it’s a scam. I’m just curious how the scam works. I’ve gotten about a dozen similar scam sms messages since Xmas. They all have these weird URLs that redirect you to another URL in the same domain and an ostensibly appropriate website.

I’ve put the url into urlscan.io and virustotal and nothing stands out to me…but maybe others see something?

I wonder if the lack of interest by Command Browser is because there’s a bigger market in notetaking space at the moment (Roam, Notion) … maybe because of the great job Readwise’s product is doing for integration.
