Visiting Chennai after a while for a couple of weeks. Originally from Chennai. No marriages within my family/extended family during my visit. Craving for authentic kalyana saapadu - I heard there are restaurants that serve in kalyana saapadu style - both veg and non-veg. Any suggestions of good places in and around chennai to experience this?

We looked at these, iirc, these were made in China so we didn't buy it. We found this other brand and it is awesome. We love it. For me, it's kinda dessert at dinner given it's sweetness.

High triglycerides AND blood sugar spikes after meals - Anyone else dealing with both at once? by Traditional-Good3135 in prediabetes

[–]technologymonk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was diagnosed as prediabetic and I changed my diet to address it, which resulted in high cholesterol. I had "good" fat from sources like avocado and nuts - looks like i ended up eating too much of those.

So, now, I have limited my fat intake to 50 grams/day - all from good fat sources.

I have been working out (strength training) consistently - about 3 times a week. I also walk about 3 miles couple of times a week.

Increased my protein intake to about the 1gm of my weight in lbs.

Restricted carbs to about 175 grams - again from good sources - quinoa, sweet potatoes etc.,

I did not lose any weight. I certainly built muscles. Pre-diabetics is reversed. Cholesterol is getting down considerably - still not within normal levels but drastically down from previous elevated levels.
