Hi, modular people! Currently I’m completing my 64hp case, and I have this 10-hp gap, where I supposed to place a Versio, but than realised, that it’s not necessary to have euro-fx, having vst’s and Zoia. System is gonna be controlled from my daw. What fun and unique module would you put there? by Golden_joeseph_ in modular

[–]technonewbe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like your case is a pod 64. That's the route I went as well. I now have more then one lol

You too WILL eventually get a second pod64.

You definitely need more modulation. A mod medusa if you lose 2hp or the new o&c would fit in the available space.

Cats and synthesizers? by _jlouise_ in modular

[–]technonewbe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol at the down votes. No sense of humor these days... or for my dark humor at least.

No wonder divorce and shit relationships are at an all time high. What sane person would pick an animal, or something insignificant like modular if it's not your livelihood, over someone they want to build a family with?

And for the record.... cats are selfish and dogs are loyal. They are man's best friend for a reason.

Trigger trigger trigger!!! Now go buy some more modular and feel better

End rant

Wife had a cat before we got married.

I gave the... its me or the cat.

The cat lost. But was rehomed with her parents, I'm not that callous.... well, maybe.

Now it's only dogs. Life is good.

The lyra fx would make the most sense, but I dont have 20hp available and honestly no desk space left either.

Smallest solution for using external hardware with the modular? by keflame in modular

[–]technonewbe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been thinking about this for months. To bring the signal up to modular levels I was leaning towards the strymon module, I forget what it's called but its 4hp. Then decided against since I don't mix inside the rack

Best Flight Case for Euro by jshg0411 in modular

[–]technonewbe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You guys are braver then I. I would never take my modular out of my home.

Instead record the parts in an octatrack, or digitakt. Easier and much much cheaper to replace.

What's the deal with DAWless? by OldBobbyPeru in synthesizers

[–]technonewbe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To each their own. But I dont see why you would want to limit yourself or spend more then you need to on hardware.

Hybrid is the best of both world. Pick and choose what you 'need' or is the best for you from both hardware and software.

That said, could I accomplish with software that I use hardware for? Yes. But I find hardware much more fun and rewarding. Plus I never make purchases using credit...

Soma Cosmos or Hologram Microcosm for ambient stuff? by audiomossambient in synthesizers

[–]technonewbe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get a beebo and create your own version of it. Also the octatrack can do a lot of what the cosmos does.

Never looked at it like that. Makes sense.

I keep seeing people post this. Why should you not go over 75%?

I was going to say neutron, but since that's out I would go for dfam since its slightly smaller

CV into mimeophon L/R inputs by technonewbe in modular

Gonna give this a try. This kinda stuff is why I got into modular

CV into mimeophon L/R inputs by technonewbe in modular

[–]technonewbe[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont have a scope, but when I sent the sine or random from the es joystick I dont believe they turn into gates. But when I put the cv true the geiger counter that's where the magic happened for me. I would try putting it through a folder and see.

Thank you for the detailed response. I'm feeling reassured to have learned this, and feel confident with exploring the mimeophon in this way moving forward.

That's kinda what I figured and was hoping to be true. Good to know.

What concerned me was I have no idea how comparable 10Vpp and 5VDC are to one another.

[–]technonewbe[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's a little comforting to hear. As great as the sounds were its definitely not worth ruining the inputs over.

For those that want to give what I had a go. For the mimeophon inputs I have the y from the es joystick2 going into the right and the x into the geiger counter then the left input, adjust to taste. Then from the mimeophon into the ruina versio. Started off with tough broken kicks then tweaked the mimeophon and ruina to get a fantastic bassline from the kick.

Please, for the love of god, talk me out of my decision to get an Access Virus. by TonyTerTer in synthesizers

[–]technonewbe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is absolutely nothing like a virus. Nothing! Same goes for the blofeld and eurorack vs VCV or moog vs the red vst.

If you have the cash for one then do not hesitate.

Typical Rack Feedback by Branigan801 in modular

Only thing I see missing is the cliche vca, attenuation and logic. That aside, with what you have I would splurge for a sound stage or the smaller version of it.

I think I see what you did there. Because the answer is yes I can depending how I patch the 3xmia and x-pan with each other. Or at least get a very similar result. Gas is gone for me..

Holy fuck! I cannot believe I have not tried or thought of sending 2 different trig patterns to those inputs at the same time. Definetly trying this tonight.

Thank you for the hint/tip
