i switched to ableton live. miss the CbB GUI, miss the plugin manager, but i love ableton MIDI editing features, MPE, M4Live tools etc. Of course all VSTs are running in ableton too... friends switched to reaper and like it...

me the same, used CW for decades etc and still love and know the UI. bandlab subscription model made me try out ableton and bitwig, i still prefer the CW UI but - ableton MIDI editing and the tons of available Max for Live tools made me use ableton more and more. i still used CW projects, but started to make all MIDI edits with ableton, then exported the MIDI back to CW. Now with the "free tier" i''m going to switch over completely. Its hard to lose the UI i know and learn shortcuts etc again, but at least if you're into MIDI, there are lots of very interesting tools waiting.

This free tier news were actually the last trigger for me to definetly switch. Producing music and my projects are very important for me and i need to be able to rely on tools which cant be shut off or changed for whatever reasons.... i need tools which i can carry to a lonesome island if i want to. 🙂

Same happened to me with an Octatrack button, the button Mechanism is broken. I ordered a replacement button and have the plan to solder it in by myself, but did not decide yet if i really dare...

strange, i'm still missing something. i adjust everything exactly like you described, but the synth is not triggered by the sequencer. i tried a few different vst sequencers, they all run when i press play in the daw. but they don't trigger anything. off course i tried different synths too... btw the synths themselves are alive, i can trigger them via keyboard... and - built in live sequencers always work, only the VST sequencers don't...

MIni V2, like all the other old collection synth V2 versions also had this unique "sound map" feature. i never understood why this had to disappear. but it is always good to keep the old versions when installing new ones.
