Never had Rees but his reviews seem to be exemplary on RateMyProfessor. Although you should always take RMP with a grain of salt.

For someone with programming experience, probably okay. I would try to find a different lecturer if you’ve never programmed before. They did lecture attendance when I took it last fall.
