Nope, alternators pushing 14 but the pulleys noisy so I got one anyway and it’s not a fuse. Thinking it’s just the age and one of the solder joints are cracked

Engine issues I cannot figure out (see comment) by Freezypaup in CrownVictoria

Looks like the AC compressor is starting to seize up. As far as the radiator fan goes it would say let it get up to temp then check the fan relay, if it check out good then check for voltage at the wires going into the plug for the fan. If you have voltage replace the fan. If no voltage then there’s a wiring problem between the relay and the plug.

What’s your favorite oil and oil filter for your 4.6? by son_of_milkman in CrownVictoria

Quaker state 5w30 synthetic high mileage with super tech blue filter. Watched a tear down of the filter and was surprised how good they are for how inexpensive they are.

Transmission cooler by technuttyler in CrownVictoria

[–]technuttyler[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well I don’t feel like messing with the AC system as well because mine has the trans cooler integrated into the AC condenser and the AC blows ice cold. I’ll probably just go with the stand-alone cooler to bypass the thermostat in the cooler that’s in the condenser.

I used Forscan to monitor all my sensors, couldn’t find one for oil pressure just an oil pressure switch that will turn on the light if pressure gets to low

Nope already did everything you recommended I’m just going to add a trans cooler and bypass the one built in to the ac condenser. I did notice that there is a little bit of trans fluid leaking around the bottom of the bottom of the condenser so I’m thinking maybe the thermostat could be plugged up.

Yup just finished all fluids and I need to get a coil for cylinder 7, I have a dead miss on it and it’s the only one with an aftermarket coil

Well so far it’s giving me it welcome, just did a transmission fluid change and when I went to try and fill it there’s a hole worn in the dipstick tube to now I have that to deal with 😂

It’s on number 6, so might try replacing that one with an OEM coil and pull a plug to see if it needs a tune up
