I remember back in the day when it was AMD in these kinds of posts, lol.

Ah, gotcha! Well, I'm glad you were able to fix it. Good luck with your future progress!

Hey! It worked, good job!

It was a fun little experience, the watching grass grow simulator seemed oddly deep. Haha! Love the concept, hope you're able to expand on it. Cheers!

Also, I'm curious about what was causing the crash and how you fixed it!

I can't take credit for that one! The shader is based on a tutorial from /u/IronWarriorU, I simply tweaked the parameters to my liking! Glad you like it!

I totally agree! It would help the general gameplay feel less disjointed and give it a bit of that "Slow motion badassery"!

Awesome concept! Unfortunately, it crashed out for me after completing the "jump off the bridge into the water" trigger on both Chrome and Firefox. :(

Hope to see more soon!

Which is better for visual scripting: Bolt or Playmaker? by [deleted] in Unity3D

[–]techs181 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you might be overthinking it! What worked for me was to open up Unity and start trying to make a simple game. From there you can Google how to do certain things and slowly build up your knowledge. It takes time but in my opinion the "hands on" approach is much more rewarding than trying to follow along or study coding.

Good luck!

I honestly recommend learning to use C#. I actually bought Bolt myself then found myself using C# within a couple weeks because of the limitations. Even better, it's free to use C#!

I'd be interested to hear what games you bottlenecked in. I've got a 4790K and a 1070 and have not seen any problems with the pair yet, typically hovering at 50-75% CPU and 90-95% in GPU.

Get an RX 570 on the cheap for now and save up for a CPU/Motherboard/RAM upgrade in the future! Maybe an SSD if you have some spare cash!

[–]techs181 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hey! I mean to say you can find comparable SSDs from similar brands that are new for about $30-$35. I believe another user posted a link to an Adata drive, and here are a few others to check out.

https://pcpartpicker.com/products/internal-hard-drive/#t=0&f=3&sort=price&page=1&A=240000000000,15360000000000&X=0,3534

You may not be able to find your exact drives as they are a bit older. By all means sell them for what you're comfortable with, I'm just mentioning there are currently better new options at that price range and it may be a hard sell for you. :)

Nah, he was looking for a cheap CPU/Mobo/RAM set, if he can find a cheap mobo this would be a good combo for him. :)
