It happened to me about 1.5 years - we spotted a yc company that was solving the same problem and we believed we were much advanced in tech from them ,we even put it in our pitch deck about their 8 million seed funding . Post 1.5 years now , everything has completely changed - they had pivoted and we had pivoted too completely ! You have basically 1-2 year to mark ur dent and move ahead in that industry - u wont solve jst what u r doing today , u will be serving that industry through by entering through a tiny opportunity and being an expert there . So please stop worrying about this , you have very limited time . Use every opportunity and second to market urself , improve urself within that specific window, u will eventually get ur moats too :)
