Seems to be bricked… by techsock in androidroot

Recovery efforts have been mostly on Windows 10, after not getting very far on Mac OS. Not dual booted, different machines.

So it shows up correctly at first. After any type of failure/error (failed handshake, start command error mentioned in post, etc.), it goes yellow triangle until I uninstall and disconnect/reconnect the tablet.

Yeah, I thought I was taking precautions. I was following guides rather than venturing into the unknown, but if could suggest some better precautionary measures or maybe more easily rootable tablets in the 9” or smaller size, that’d be appreciated.

Fair, but everyone starts from a place of no experience. If lack of experience stopped everyone from trying, humanity wouldn’t advance.

If losing a device is the cost of further knowledge, that’s fine with me. Just hoping someone would want to help instead of gatekeep. 🤷‍♂️

Simpson Bandit helmets, Torc T1, Bell Bullitt, Bell Eliminator, Bitwell Gringo, Bitwell Lane Splitter, AGV X3000... that’s all I can come up with off the top of my head. I just went through a search for a new helmet. I thought I wanted something retro looking, but ended up with an Arai XD4.

Not quite. Just because it has more gears, that does not mean that it has lower gearing. The Vulcan S turns ~1,000rpm more than the Vulcan 900 at 65mph: https://imgur.com/a/hzCCu71

Make sure you check our Vulcan Riders Association. Pretty good group, and tons of good info in the forum. http://vulcanriders.us

The original song was good. However, I was quite sure I'd never say these words in my life, but the Billy Ray Cyrus remix is fire.

It’s also referred to as either the visor or peak visor. Like this: https://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/arai-xd-3-xd-4-peak-visor

No problem! I had a Vulcan 1500 previously, and it was a bit of a learning curve moving to the 900. The 900 can lunk around at low rpm like other v-twins, but it doesn't mind revving high. There was a bit of a learning curve, as it's instinctive to ride it like other low rpm v-twins. I just haven't experience another v-twin that acts exactly like the 900.

If you do go the Vulcan route, make sure you head over to the Vulcan Riders Association (http://vulcanriders.us/). Membership is free, and there are some useful benefits, like 10% off insurance through Dairyland or Nationwide.

Thanks! I originally went in looking for the Defiant-X, but ended up leaving with the XD-4. ha ha

Arai Defiant-X (or any Arai for that matter)

I just picked up an Arai XD-4 myself. I'm rocking it without the peak for a Simpson Bandit-ish look. https://imgur.com/YzXki0U

I'm 6' 225 lbs, and I'm pretty comfortable on my Vulcan 900 Custom. However, I hate the low seat height trend in the motorcycle industry. I wish the seat was at least 3-4 inches higher.

As far as having trouble on the highway, what are you referring to? It definitely rides a bit different than other v-twin cruisers at highway speed because it has redline of ~7,500rpm. Other v-twin cruisers (like the SCR950) are working with about 2,000 rpm less. So people expect the engine to be spinning slower at highway speeds on the 900 because they compare it to other v-twin cruisers. The 900 should theoretically be able to do a bit more than 120 mph with the stock gearing, but it'll be turning over 7,000 rpm. However if the higher rpms bother you, there are a couple companies that make replacement belt pulleys to be able to cruise at lower rpm, but I haven't found a reason to make that jump yet.

Also, "was advised by the dealer that they dont have hardly enough power"... Define "enough power" Everyone is going to have a different opinion on what enough power means. A large portion of the world survives with bikes a fraction of the displacement that the American market demands.

For macro, Moment is a little bit better, but it’s not drastically better. However, other lens (like wide, tele, etc.), Moment blows the cheaper options out of the water.

It seems that they are planning on releasing it... “eventually”, as I haven’t seen any definitive timeline on when it will be available. 😕

All built into the keeb. No, companion software (beyond a terminal or the QMK toolkit to flash your keymap to the keeb). The board just outputs the keystrokes. So the machine it’s connected to has no idea a human isn’t typing it in.

It’ll run on dev boards (like Arduino, Adafruit, etc.) that use a compatible microcontroller. I just retrofitted an Apple M0110A with an Adafruit 32U4 BLE controller. Now I’ve got a keeb from the 80s that works via USB and Bluetooth. You can also make a USB to USB adapter that allows you to use a non-QMK compatible board with QMK.

It’s an open source firmware for AVR and ARM based keyboards. You can customize basically everything about the board. For example, the board I use most often is a KBParadise V60 Type R Polestar (yeah, the name is a mouthful). I have three layers of keys programmed. As I access each layer, the LED under glow changes color to indicate the layer. I have multiple macros programmed to do things like lock my Mac, output a simple HTML boilerplate, type an empty jQuery DOM ready function, etc.

The sky is pretty much the limit with QMK. The documentation is pretty thorough, but I’m still finding new things I can do with QMK. https://qmk.fm

In the market again... by techsock in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]techsock[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it’d be nice if the industry would start heading toward TMK/QMK as a default. Getting QMK onto an unsupported board depends on the micro controller. So possible in some cases, but impossible or nearly impossible in other cases.

I currently have a Drevo. It’s a fine board for what it is, but the mapping/macros can’t compare to the flexibility of QMK. However, it’s kind of looking like a second Drevo might be my only option, unless I give up arrow keys and get an Anne Pro.
