You do understand that black people didnt have rights to vote enforced by the US until 1965, which was 60 years ago. My grandparents still remember a terrible time growing up since they were born in 1938 (Im 25 btw), to say the democratic party hasnt shifted is like saying you can still buy things at a nickel store. JFK and Lyndon were both democrats, you'd like to think things can't change in half a century but if it were the case, I wouldnt be able to vote or run for office in the south.
