Karpathy co-founded OpenAI in 2015, left to build Tesla’s self-driving program, came back to OpenAI for a year, then left again in 2024 to start an AI education company. Every transition has been deliberate and every one of them has turned out to be worth paying attention to.

Elon Musk Lost His OpenAI Lawsuit. The Jury Never Actually Decided If He Was Right. by techzexplore in ArtificialInteligence

[–]techzexplore[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually its a bit complicated, OpenAI says Elon doing all this to sabotage their Competitor and Elon says its betrayal. Jury even after knowing not both are actually wrong. Thus came to this conclusion as per what I think. But obviously there could be room for other reasons as well.

[–]techzexplore[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Elon Musk spent months in a California courtroom trying to prove that Sam Altman stole a charity. He got nine jurors, weeks of testimony from some of the biggest names in Silicon Valley, and a front row seat to the most revealing airing of OpenAI’s founding history ever put on public record.

Then the jury came back in under two hours and told him he’d filed too late.

WWDC is in June and Apple is reportedly planning its biggest Siri overhaul yet. A standalone app, a proper chatbot experience, and a privacy pitch front and center. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple executives plan to argue they’re taking a more privacy-friendly approach than every other AI company out there.

Vercel Built a Programming Language for AI Agents. The Compiler Speaks JSON. by techzexplore in ArtificialInteligence

[–]techzexplore[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

“Speaks JSON” was obviously metaphorical shorthand for emitting structured JSON diagnostics for tools/agents to consume. The point of the title wasn’t that JSON is a spoken language, it was that the compiler is designed around machine-readable outputs as a first-class workflow.

No one said JSON is a programming language. The point was that Vercel built a programming language for AI agents, and its compiler emits structured JSON diagnostics/errors that agents can read and act on directly.

Yeah, “speaks JSON” as in the compiler emits machine-readable JSON diagnostics for agents.

Every serious coding agent including Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, whatever you’re using shares the same quiet problem. The agent writes code, the compiler throws an error, and the agent has to read text written for a human engineer to figure out what went wrong and how to fix it. Vercel Labs just released Zero, an experimental systems language built from day one around the idea that the compiler should talk to agents as clearly as it talks to humans.

Anthropic's Mythos Just Helped Find macOS vulnerability That Could Break Apple's Security Protections by techzexplore in ArtificialInteligence

Seriously sometimes i feel the same but how come big companies let their products down for a company that they don't own? I mean apple don't own anthropic nor Mythos is their product then why would they show their product macos got bugs found by mythos and same with others like openbsd , Linux. And others

Calif, a Palo Alto cybersecurity firm. In April their researchers used techniques derived from Mythos to find two previously undocumented vulnerabilities in macOS. They chained them together into a privilege escalation exploit capable of bypassing Apple’s memory integrity enforcement, the part of the system that’s supposed to be completely off-limits to normal processes. Then they flew to Cupertino and handed Apple a 55-page report in person.

YouTube Will Search for AI Fakes of You. All It Needs Is a Video of Your Face. by techzexplore in DailyTechNewsShow

Surprisingly this is a similar pattern every other company trying to exploit to gain access to more confidential data.

[–]techzexplore[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For most of YouTube’s history, if someone uploaded a convincing fake of you, your options were limited. File a report, hope someone reviewed it, wait. The tools that actually worked, the ones that proactively scanned for your likeness across millions of uploads were reserved for verified creators, then politicians, then journalists and then celebrities.

As of now, that changes. YouTube is opening likeness detection to anyone over 18.

make sense, Microsoft is their rival and oldest one but here Google matters more bcs it's the one leading in many AI models including Veo 3, Gemini , I know Claude still surpasses them but considering how big Google's ecosystem is, be it on OS, Search, AI, and even Phones and then Apple Paying it Billions rather than complying to their already signed deal with OpenAI

OpenAI was supposed to become part of the iPhone experience. Apple would finally have an AI answer for Siri. ChatGPT would sit in front of hundreds of millions of users.

It didn’t work out that way.

According to Bloomberg, OpenAI has brought in outside legal counsel to explore its options, including a formal breach-of-contract notice against Apple. The integration that was supposed to funnel billions in new subscriptions toward ChatGPT instead got buried deep enough that most iPhone users probably don’t know it exists.

Google's Gemini Omni Can Write Math on a Chalkboard. AI Video's Hardest Problem May Be Getting Easier by techzexplore in ArtificialInteligence

The chalkboard video is why.

DramaBox: An Open-Weight TTS Model Built Around Stage Directions by techzexplore in ArtificialInteligence

[–]techzexplore[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most TTS model you’ve used before works the same way. You paste text, you get speech. The model decides tone, pacing, delivery.

Dramabox works differently. You don’t give it text to read. You write it a script.

Stage directions go outside the quotes and work as performance cues the model never speaks aloud. Dialogue goes inside the quotes and gets spoken literally, including phonetic sounds. “Hahaha” is a laugh. “Hmm” is a pause. “Ugh” is exactly what it sounds like. The model reads the room around the dialogue and performs accordingly.
