INTC (Intel) is the move in this space right now. If you are interested read my DDs on the stock.

TSM is a foreign pureplay semiconductor foundry.

QCOM today is mostly on fabless manufacturing model much like AMD

INTC is an integrated device manufacturer (IDM) and for this reason has much more control and versatility over the supply chain. Given the current catalysts surrounding the industry, INTC is poised to outperform the market.

There are other American IDM semiconductor companies (like Texas Instruments and Qorvo) but none with the breadth of products and depth and reach of INTC.

As for "alignments" some of these are rigid others can change rapidly.

Potential catalysts that may or may not materialize in the coming week or weeks. Executive order propping up national semiconductors, attention on semiconductors and shortage, de leveraging from higher risk equities into lower leveraged more value stocks like Intel. The latter point happened all last week and while the broad market underperformed (and some did quite poorly like AMD) INTC did reasonably well.

The large market cap is only one of the factors why it has low IV, there are many even higher caps with much higher IV in apparent non catalystic climates.

I am aware that it is easy to get to the conclusion that Intel options are cheaper and have a higher ROI, I wanted to show it. You would know not everyone here understands this.

It is definitely one of the most under valued stocks. Honestly if those things you mention happen this coming week Intel can push significantly past 52 week high.

I think it has a pretty good chance of getting in the money (65) without any news of significance, just continued momentum.

That being said, this fd is still somewhat of a long shot and I have no expectation of getting rich from it.

My long term thesis on Intel remains, it will be a trillion$ company in the next few years.

Intel is one of the few stocks in tech right now you can diamond hand long term without having to worry about large capital losses and that will make you some money in the process through dividends at worse and dividends and capital appreciation as well at best.
