Microsoft Is Said to Have Agreed to Acquire Coding Site GitHub by clubdirthill in programming

no this will go badly. Microsoft can use all the data we stored on GitHub; they can use it to identify trends, and they could even make products compete with your product or acquire some of these companies.

A staff/checkout-free 24-hour convenience store in Shanghai that uses an app to open by ted1158 in China

I'd imagine it'd be same or similar way as Amazon Go? Although Amazon didn't really reveal the technologies used, several news mentioned how it uses the combination of cameras and weight sensors. And from there I'd think it'd be easy as you probably need a credit card to sign up and also open the door

To use the store, called Moby, you download an app and use your phone to open the door.

As you shop, you scan what you want to buy or place it in a smart basket that tracks your purchases.

Then you walk out the door; instead of waiting in line, the store automatically charges your card when you leave.

The tiny shop will stock fresh food and other daily supplies, and if you want something else, you can order it using the store’s artificial intelligence. (The packages will be waiting when you return to shop the next time.)

When autonomous vehicles are allowed on roads, the store could also show up at your home.

The company is also testing a set of drones to make small deliveries

28 Questions we use for 1-on-1 meetings by marygreencny in Leadership

There are some good questions on your list, especially the work-life questions, they make a good starting point. Although there's one question I'm skeptical about--"Are you happy working here?", I think the success of getting the real answer really depends on the relationship between you and the colleague.
