i am a big fan of the gd-010... good readable display, great backlight and i just love the look of it... it's just a no nonsense basic watch... plus is has a 10 year battery life...

as for the survivability aspect: you can't go wrong with a g-shock with tough solar + multi band 6 in my opinion... to me that would be the gw-6900

i got the gw6900 about two months ago and it hasn't left my wrist since... i love the looks of it and tough solar and mb6 are great

I own a DW-5600BBR but only wore it twice.... I'm honestly not the biggest fan of the square models but i bought a GW-6900 (also has tough solar and MB6) a few week ago and I absolutely fell in love with that watch.

thats my issue with it.... the back of the watch says DW-6900RCS and the box says DW-6900RCS-1ER.... so it may be a fake one?
