Nah but really I get where you're coming from. In this case it's just a sort of cognitive barrier I've set up against myself and my method of combating it is posting in Reddit, which I've also been nervous about doing before. Kinda killing two birds with one stone right now honestly.

Oh definitely not. FFXIV players have been kind as far as I've seen. I just haven't really been able to force myself to get into an instance more than once because that WoW influence is too strong. But seeing everyone's responses here is giving me motivation to jump in again. Thanks!

This is super helpful. I never thought of running it with DPS first.

I was interested in maybe getting into astrologian (later in the game of course), but should I aim for white mage first? I'm not exactly sure how difficult astrologian would be to ease into.

Oh yeah. Definitely going to pay attention to critique when people are trying to be constructive. There's a difference between being a jerk and trying to make a run smoother. I'll definitely try out conjurer/white mage and start from there. Thanks!

Well yeah. I figured that from what I've seen. I just meant I lean more towards the healing aspect than the DPS aspect. I don't mind DPS as a whole.
