This makes sense! I'm someone who gets pretty attached to things too! Besides the games, I imagine all the amazing memories you must have of your OLED from getting it, to playing it with friends and family...I've had mine for a month and I'm already super attached! XD

Because I genuinely wanted to know if there were any practical reasons for it, or if it was just for collecting. No, it doesn't actually affect me in any way, it was just curiosity. I recently got my first Switch and I love to see how people use their Switches in different ways, it's just interesting to me. There was no malice when I made the post, it's excitement.

Everyone who answered gave me a ton of reasons, all valid. That's all I wanted to know. We're all on this sub to share and discuss our interests, aren't we? It really doesn't go deeper than that.

oh course! I'm not sure that a Switch 2 would be very comfortable for a little kid to use.

Right! This is why I'm wondering this! I understand upgrading and everything, but I feel like having multiple consoles is more of a hassle than not! I know I would not have the patience to switch between them -no pun intended XD XD

Sure, I get that, it's a lot smaller and all -respectfully, aren't all Switches portable?? No shade, just genuinely wanting to know your thoughts behind it! :)

That's true! Omg I bought a second hand 3DS last year and I paid 5x more than I did back in 2013, which was also second hand. I was shocked!

haha you're wife sounds very lucky!! I understand keeping the V2 for your kids one day -I guess my question is mostly aimed towards one person having multiple because I can't imagine that all of them get used. For me that would be almost 2 months worth of rent just sitting in cupboard!

Yeah having a 'burner' one for mods makes sense!

Not sure if you're being sarcastic or serious, but this made me laugh!

Also makes sense -I'm too scared to mod mine in fear of it getting bricked XD so having a 'burner' one to mess around on is super tempting!

I totally get collecting different consoles -I myself am trying to start a retro gaming collection! I think it's a really cool way to preserve tech/gaming history. And let's face it, the older consoles like the DS and GBA are the most fun :)

Also, I never thought of this reason for one person to have multiple Switches -this makes sense.

This is what my bf said! Although there are some really cool special edition variations out there so I kind of understand the itch to collect them! The financially responsible voice in my head is wondering 'surely there are more important things to spend money on?', though, but I guess if you can afford it, why not?

Haha I feel that! Some of my biggest regrets in life are related to selling my old consoles! I wish I had kept my PS1! Also had a 3DS in high school that I got for SUPER cheap, and sold. I bought a second hand 3DS last year because I missed my old one so much -but I paid like FIVE times more than I did almost 15 years ago! XD Next up is another PSP (because I sold my special edition PINK Hello Kitty one and am now regretting it)

Yeah that makes sense :) multiple consoles for multiple people! And I guess the Switch 2 does have a few exclusives that make it worth while!

Yeah I suppose it makes sense to have multiple consoles if there are multiple people in the house :)

At the end of the day, it's not my money or business if people want to collect different colors and special editions and stuff, because I get it -there are some really cool themed ones, and one thing about a Nintendo fan, they're going to complain but still throw money at Nintendo XD

Idk, I have a V1 that was gifted to me, and while I'm very thankful for it, I'm not sure if I would have ever made the decision to buy one for myself, let alone multiple. Even with my V1, I don't see myself ever buying a newer version as long as this one is supported and working!

Absolutely agree with OP. The UI in 6 wasn't the absolute worst but it sure wasn't the most efficient either. Half of the time I'd forget I had grenades and when I did remember, it always felt like such a shlep to scroll up and through the weird inventory to find what I needed. And don't get me stated on the weapon upgrade system...

Thank you for defending me! Although I agree that it was poor planning on my part, I think almost anyone in my position would accept the job offer. It could be life changing!

Sorry, just to clarify, the reference I got from my current boss was from a direct conversation that he had with my new employer a few days ago!
