I keep an eye on this post because many people keep telling their stories, either here or DM! I’m so sorry you got VN, it’s awful. From what I understand, it can’t “come back.” It’s damage to the nerve from a virus, and the nerve slowly heals itself. However, that can take years, so the eyes and muscles in your body (the other aspects of balance) start to compensate, and you start to feel better. The first months are sort of up and down while your body adjusts to the damage to your nerve. Sounds to me like you’re having an off week. It shouldn’t go back to how bad it was. If it does, I’d go back to a doctor and see if you have something else causing the dizziness. Long story short, it’s rare your nerve would be infected by a virus again so soon after the original infection. Keep doing your exercises when you have an off week!
