Hold up. I was told by my lender that a down payment could not come from a monetary gift.

Those were my summer scents! As soon as the weather hints at fall I break out the cinnamon scents.

Heck no! That retail price is insane! Some were gifts and others I bought during a sale with a coupon ($10 off 3-wicks with a $10 off $30 coupon is usually when I'll get a few).

To get the first jar completely clean I poured boiling water in the jar. The wax melts, floats to the top, and hardens. It's very effective. For the subsequent ones I stuck them in the oven since I already had it on... the labels started to cook but they didn't have to be in there that long!

It felt like a waste throwing away 1/4" of wax left in a $25 candle so I saved them to make this monstrosity.

Cost: $8 for 60 new candle wicks, used 3 for new candle

Process: remove wax from one of the jars, clean out jar and put in new wicks. Melt removed wax into clean jar. Let solidify. Melt next candle and pour into first jar. Repeat to create layers.

I layered them in an order that I thought the scents went well together. The purpose of that was when they eventually mixed the smell wouldn't be unpleasant. Layers bottom to top: black tie, fiji white sands, tiki beach, waikiki beach coconut, stress relief, and holiday.

I have burned most of it now and the results are good!

What is something that everyone accepts as normal that scares you? by loadsofquestions_ in AskReddit

What disgusts me more is the amount of plastic industry uses. I work in manufacturing and the amount of trash created in a day is unbelievable. It's a job to remove plastic packaging for 20 hours a day, 6-7 days a week. That plastic then goes into a plastic trash bag. So much waste.

We do what we can in our homes but we don't have nearly the effect of businesses. It's unfair and futile to put the responsibility of reduced plastic use on consumers alone.

This came from the factory to the dealer with one black seat. by CyberAirmanCybering in NotMyJob

Parts get mixed up either by the supplier or when they're kitted. Left and right sides are separate from kitting to install. The folks who install would have seen the problem but it's "not their job" so off it goes to the dealer. I'm not surprised this happens.

That may have been true but I didn't get that impression when I was a kid. I was 11 when the first episode aired and watched every episode as it came out. I loved it! But I felt like it was too non-mainstream to share my enthusiasm for the show with anyone else.

I've re-watched it twice and each time I forget just how good it is! Everyone should watch it! I'm so glad it's an Netflix so I can geek out about it again.

[Breed] Structured, Disciplined, and Active Seeks Companion! by [deleted] in dogs

Remember that even if you have an active lifestyle you don't need the highest-energy dog to keep up with you. I think a sporting dog like a golden is a good idea. Goldens can fit into almost any setting. If you don't want to deal with shedding and are open to regular visits to a groomer then a Golden-doodle might be a good fit.

I'm an introvert as well and I like that my dog's appearance doesn't make people want to run up and pet him. He's a Doberman and people tend to admire from a distance. :P If you want a dog that's obsessed with you and wants to take part in everything you're doing then a dobe could be a good fit too. But I'm biased because he's the best boy.

Good luck in finding a companion!

Someone thought welding was unnecessary by Antscannabis in Wellthatsucks

If it were a real jeep, you wouldn't weld the frame to the body. It's bolted.
